PHOENIX -- It took almost a third of the season for the Phoenix Suns to patch together three straight wins. It also took climbing out of a 19-point hole against the slumping Sacramento Kings on Monday to complete the long journey. Shannon Brown scored 14 of his 22 points during Phoenix's 31-point third quarter, and Marcin Gortat added 14 points, 13 rebounds and six blocks as the Suns roared back in the second half to beat the Kings 101-90. After losing seven straight, the Suns (10-15) now are streaking in the other direction. Down 54-35 with just over two minutes left in the first half, Phoenix closed the second quarter with eight straight points, beginning a 39-14 run that turned the game. Brown ended his big third quarter on a driving layup with 21.5 seconds left to give the Suns a 74-68 lead. The Kings (7-17) got within three twice in the fourth quarter but no closer. They suffered their fifth consecutive loss. "They outworked us in the first half, and we were ...

Suns end up with enough to defeat Kings

But it was only Monday night and the Phoenix Suns were busy making sure they avoided losing to the second-worst team (by record) in the NBA's Western Conference. The Suns...

Tyreke Evans’ sore left knee kept him out of Monday’s game against the Phoenix Suns at US Airways Center. Since suffering a bruised left knee Nov. 27 against Minnesota, the veteran guard has missed seven of 10 games. Evans left Sunday’s loss to Denver after 10 minutes on the floor. An MRI showed no structural damage to the knee. Kings coach Keith Smart said it’s not up...
