The 76ers have had a pretty solid start to the 2012 preseason, especially considering they are playing without their prized offseason pickup, Andrew Bynum. The thinking goes that the team will only improve once Andrew hits the hardwood, so the team's 3-1 start to this preseason sans-Bynum is pretty promising. The Sixers have bested Eastern Conference goes Boston, Cleveland, and Orlando, with their only loss coming in overtime in Atlantic City to the Brooklyn Nets. One of the brightest points for the 7-6 this preseason has been the play of the newly-acquired Nick Young, who has taken little time to find his flow in Philly's offense. A slasher with nearly unlimited range, Young can score in a variety of ways and provides Philly with the type of threat that they haven't had in recent memory.  Through four games this preseason Nick has been putting up an impressive 19 points per in slightly under twenty eight minutes a game. This output would have been more than enough to l...

Kid goes nuts after Thaddeus Young dunk

By no means is this post meant to disparage Philadelphia 76ers forward Thaddeus Young, his above-average NBA career thus far after being drafted 12th overall by the Sixers in the 2007 draft, nor is there any intention to downplay the pretty impressive and thunderous one-handed put-back dunk Young threw down during a preseason game against [...]

The Sports Bank will be counting down to the opening tip of the 2012-13 NBA season with team by team previews starting with the worst and working our way to the title contenders.  There is no lockout this time around so let’s get going. The Philadelphia 76ers made a major splash in the off-season by trading Andre Iguodala for Andrew Bynum in a four-team deal.  The Sixers are...

NBA Rookie, Maalik Wayns is Opening his Doubters’ Eyes

Philadelphia native, Maalik Wayns went un-drafted in the 2012 NBA draft this past summer, and is working hard to earn himself a roster spot on the new-look Philadelphia 76ers. 76ers waive center Gadzuric

Center Dan Gadzuric's stay with the Philadelphia 76ers is over before it ever began. Gadzuric, who signed three weeks ago at the start of training camp, was waived Thursday, the team announced. Cavs' off night to be expected

OK, so the Cavaliers have issues. Anyone who suspected such might not be the case was living in an NBA fantasyland. In Wednesdays 113-99 loss to Philadelphia, the Cavs revealed what we should have known all along: Theyre extremely young, lost one of their top two leading scorers from last season, and are still learning the finer points of the pro game. That last point was especially...
