My heartfelt thanks and gratitude go out to you, Bennett Salvatore. It was you, and your atrocious phantom call against Paul Pierce, that may have lifted a "sense of entitlement" that the Celtics could have been carrying with them throughout the playoffs. Yes, it could have been called a travel (though plays like that are never called that way), but an offensive foul? Fortunately for me, I had moved everything that could be thrown at something, away from me and my recliner before tip-off. What I didn't know at the time was that call changed Game 6 from that point on.....in a good way. Instead of blowing up, getting a tech, or losing composure, Paul Pierce kept his composure. His teammates on the floor kept theirs. And the Celtics bench kept theirs. And at that point, it seemed that the Celtics woke up, and started playing basketball. Playing to win the series in the Pistons' gym, instead of playing against the refs. They began attacking the basket, protecting the ball, and playing lock-down defense. It was as if something just clicked, and let them know that if they were going to win this thing, THEY were going to have to win it. The officials were not going to help them. They were not.................
