Found December 22, 2012 on Celtics Green ...a boston celtics blog.:
As you might expect, Tommy had a rough night with the officiating as bad as it was in this game. I mean what happened to home cooking? Tommy was quiet for a bit after Ilyasova's elbow to Green's head was ignored and my hubby said that poor Tommy was probably on a respirator after that egregious no call. Here's tonight's Best of Tommy and there's lots of good tweets as always. Tommy started out with some well deserved words of praise for The Captain. Pierce puts the first #Celtics points on the board: "Continuing from the other night, shooting threes, he keeps it going!!!" — Tommy Heinsohn (@CSNTommy) December 22, 2012 Jeff Green started off strong and played well in this game, earning a few Tommy Points for his effort. "Look at this great block by Jeff Green! And then this is a #TommyPoint on the save!" — Tommy Heinsohn (@CSNTommy) December 22, 2012 And Jeff wasn't the only one earning Tommy Points for his effort. Jared Sullinger was very active on the boards, fighting for rebounds and on the offensive rebound, he put it back in for a score earning him two Tommy Points on that play. Amazing Sullinger rebound: "That is two #TommyPoint's!!!" — Tommy Heinsohn (@CSNTommy) December 22, 2012 There was no shortage of reasons to complain about the officiating in this game. It was terrible with bogus calls on the Celtics and no calls on the Bucks. And Tommy let them know about it too! Here's a sampling of his thoughts on the refs. Sullinger called on his 3rd personal foul! "Now that's bologna! That is BOLOGNA! That's two terrible calls on Sullinger!" — Tommy Heinsohn (@CSNTommy) December 22, 2012 13 free throws for the #Bucks vs. 6 for the #Celtics: "Please, PLEASE, let's stop that." — Tommy Heinsohn (@CSNTommy) December 22, 2012 Ellis gets to the line on a bump from Lee. "This is terrible. This is absolutely terrible. They didn't call that for Pierce!" — Tommy Heinsohn (@CSNTommy) December 22, 2012 "They're giving [Milwaukee] extra shots when Green's down bleeding, and, of course, no foul." — Tommy Heinsohn (@CSNTommy) December 22, 2012 And on the inability of any of the starters other than Paul Pierce to hit any shots. "The starting lineup has scored 8 baskets other than Paul Pierce... You're not gonna win when your starters end up doing that." — Tommy Heinsohn (@CSNTommy) December 22, 2012 I agree with Tommy on this one and spend a lot of time yelling at the TV about it. They need to be more aggressive in going to the basket. They settle for way too many jumpers and when they aren't falling like tonight it's brutal. Tommy and I both think they should drive more. "You see what Pierce did on that play? It's what they should have been doing all along: going to the basket." C's trail by 5 at the :30 mark — Tommy Heinsohn (@CSNTommy) December 22, 2012 And Courtney Lee was tonight's Tommy Award winner. "Well, this guy, really, to me, put some spark into this ball club." Courtney Lee wins the #TommyAward! "For energy!" #CelticsTalk — Tommy Heinsohn (@CSNTommy) December 22, 2012 [Discuss on CG Forums!]

Your Morning Dump… Where Jeff Green has chipped teeth and a bruised cheek

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. Celtics forward Jeff Green sustained a bruised left cheek and chipped multiple teeth after absorbing a stray elbow from Milwaukee’s Ersan Ilyasova in the final moments of overtime in the Bucks’ 99-94 triumph...

Video: Full highlights of Pierce's 40 point night

Paul Pierce was on fire last night vs. the Cavs. He shot 13/16 from the field and 6/7 from behind the arc. This means his eFG% was a remarkable 100% And for kicks he was also a perfect 8/8 from the line. That's pretty much the equivalent of a perfect game. Pierce wasn't just satisfied putting up big scoring numbers. He also finished with 8 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals...

Wilcox happy for team despite DNP; Green possibly not as much

Doc Rivers has changed his rotations this week. Two players impacted have been Chris Wilcox and Jeff Green. Wilcox registered a DNP last night as Doc gave Jason Collins the starting center role. Doc seems to have listened to me and has started using Green almost exclusively as the backup small forward the past two games. For one reason or another Green can not defend 4's and...

Pierce's 35 Points Not Enough as Celtics Fall to Bucks 99-94 in OT

From a basketball purist point of view, this game was very ugly. No one on the Celtics could hit the broad side of a barn except Paul Pierce. In fairness, some of the shots were missed due to being hacked or bumped and no fouls were called. The Celtics 3 times had leads of 10 points and gave every one up as the result of sloppy and passive play and the inability to hit a shot...

Comments from the Other Side - Bucks 12/21

The Bucks did what they had to to win but I'm convinced after watching this again that many of the missed shots were due to fouls not being called on the Bucks. Yes there were open misses but there were also 3 KG layups that missed because he was hacked on the arm. The officials were terrible and it culminated in Jeff Green bleeding on the floor while play went on and the Bucks...

Mannix wants Bradley/Green for Pau Gasol deal

Here’s part of my afternoon Twitter exchange with Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix. I’m intrigued by this deal. Pau Gasol would be a huge help to Kevin Garnett, the Celtics jump shot centric offense and (lack of ) rebounding. I’d hate to give up a decade of Avery Bradley for 3 years of Gasol. And a move like this is extremely short-sighted. But I really believe Gasol could...

Celtics looking to stop three-game snide

With the Boston Celtics mired in a three-game losing streak, 35-year-old Paul Pierce decided to take matters into his own hands. The All-Star forward will try to build off his historic effort and lead the Celtics to their sixth straight home win on Friday night against the Milwaukee Bucks. Pierce turned back the clock with a season-high 40 points on Wednesday in a 103-91 home win...

Paul Pierce Is Celtics’ Lone Bright Spot as Team Goes Cold Shooting (Video)

As NESN Daily‘s Jamison Coyle points out, if the Milwaukee Bucks played the Celtics 82 times, they’d be NBA champions. Fortunately for Boston that’s not how the league works. The Bucks definitely have the Celtics’ number, however, beating them for the third time on the season Friday. Paul Pierce was the lone bright spot for Boston, going for 35 points in the overtime loss...

Pierce, Celtics get past Cavs

Although it wasn’t their best performance, the Celtics were able to get past the Cleveland Cavaliers 103-91 at the TD Garden. Despite the win, there shouldn’t be much stock put into it as the Cavs came into the game with just five wins on the year. Paul Pierced led the charge with a season-high 40 points. Pierce also added eight rebounds and five assists. Rajon Rondo added 20...

Milwaukee Bucks 99, Boston Celtics 94: Postgame Analysis

Photo by AP Despite a 35-point performance by Paul Pierce, the Milwaukee Bucks close out the season series against Doc Rivers’ team with a  99-94 victory in overtime. There are many head scratches in the loss so let’s get right to it. Inconsistency in many facets: If you can’t pinpoint what the struggles are with the green team you aren’t alone. Celtics (13-13) record entails...

Jason Terry Takes Dig At Ray Allen

Two months after his 35th birthday, Celtics captain Paul Pierce scored 40 points on 16 shots in Wednesday night’s 103-91 victory against the Cavaliers. It took a superhuman effort, as his three most veteran teammates can attest. Maybe that’s why Jason Terry called him Kryptonite in the locker room afterwards. “Not a lot of guys in this league stay in one franchise,” said...

Bucks prevail over Celtics in OT

Monta Ellis scored five of his 27 points in overtime and the Milwaukee Bucks beat the Boston Celtics 99-94 Friday night in the teams' final meeting this season. Milwaukee prevailed despite blowing a seven-point lead late in regulation. The Bucks won for the sixth time in eight games, taking three of four against the Celtics, who had a five-game home winning streak snapped despite...

Bucks 99, Celtics 94, OT

BOSTON -- The Milwaukee Bucks blew a five-point lead in the final 29 seconds of regulation but regrouped in time to escape with a 99-94 overtime win over the Celtics Friday night. It was the Bucks' second win in as many tries in Boston this season and Milwaukee went 3-1 against Boston in the season series that is already over. Jumpers by Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett (5-for...
