We all have players that end up on our teams year after year. Channing Frye has a roster spot reserved on my fantasy teams. I love center-eligible players who can knock down threes. I've drafted Frye every year that he's been in a Suns uniform. And every year I worry that his shot won't fall and Phoenix will find a power forward who wants to play in the paint. I just can't shake those pre-Phoenix years. After last season, I was starting to trust Frye. He'd put up nearly identical numbers for two years (as Matt Buser points out, in 64 starts, Frye was good for 2.4 threes, 7.1 rebounds, 1.1 blocks and just .9 turnovers). A lot of prognosticators projected Frye as a low-end, top-50 player coming into this season (again, a center who hits two threes a game is a premium). I shouldn't have had a bad feeling about Frye, but I did. There were signs. The Suns drafted Markieff Morris -- a presumably more physical forward who is hungry to rebound. Yet, I still dra...

Suns can't score, Gentry not ready to panic

PHOENIX -- The beauty of this edition of the Phoenix Suns' offense is its capacity to transform almost anyone on the roster into an emergency go-to-guy for one night. But in the eye of even the most optimistic beholder, running sets to create pristine looks for Hakim Warrick and Ronnie Price suggests the potential for cosmic concerns on Planet Orange. Well, Warrick and Price...

What can Redd do for Suns?

Two winding paths of misfortune have led to the intersection of need for the Phoenix Suns and opportunity for Michael Redd. The Suns are limping toward the close of their opening week at 0-2. Redd, whose impressive career has been sidetracked by knee injury, may -- if he's not eventually reduced to limping through the compacted schedule -- be able to help. His signing was announced...

Redd signs contract with the Phoenix Suns

MILWAUKEE Former Bucks guard Michael Redd has signed with the Phoenix Suns. Redd, 32, was limited to just 44 games over the last three seasons due to a pair of serious knee injuries. When he was healthy, however, he was one of the game's better scorers and has a career scoring average of 20 points per game over his 11-year career. Redd was the Bucks second round selection...

Suns Sign Michael Redd

The Phoenix Suns have signed Michael Redd to a one year, $1.3 million deal. They're giving him the veterans minimum and a chance to revive his career. This is a great signing, it's low risk, with the potential of being high reward. The Suns training staff has long been praised for keeping guys healthy. Grant Hill, Steve Nash, Shaq (for a time) are just a couple of the...

The Unforgotten: #504 – Oliver Miller

Oliver Miller falls under the category of athletes with a ton of talent who just don’t care enough to do what it takes to succeed. The Big O was pushing three bills during his playing days despite being only 6’9″. To put that into perspective, here’s the height and weight of some other so called big men: Shawn Bradley:  7’6″ – 235 pounds...

Suns drop to 0-2, search to explain offensive struggles

In recent years, the Phoenix Suns have been known for, above all else, having an uptempo and elite offense. Win or lose, and no matter the season’s ultimate result, the team never struggled to score with Steve Nash running a descendant of Mike D’Antoni’s offense. Through two games in this young season, however, offense has…

Rebounding

As expected (at least by myself) Sixers followed the bitter loss in Portland with a nice, wire-to-wire 83-103 W in Phoenix, and now lead the Atlantic at 1-1 (.500), LOL.Not much to recap after such game, the Suns were soundly outplayed in almost every aspect of the game.Suns starters, "led" by an unrecognizable Steve Nash combined for a pitiful 7/33 from the field, which...
