The Majors Detroit:
Los Angeles Clippers
So here we are a little more than half way thru the 2012-2013 NBA season and with the All-Star break coming up I’d like to take this time to take a look at the current state of Pistons basketball.
Right from the get go I’m not going to sugar coat it, Detroit isn’t close to the playoffs in a relatively weak Eastern Conference. Sure the East has the defending champion Miami Heat but the West features teams currently out of the playoffs that would walk over the bottom seeds in the East which includes the Pistons. But a big issue for Detroit is since trading Chauncey Billups (what seems like a decade ago now) the Pistons have been without an identity. They don’t score (ranked 19th in scoring), they don’t defend all that well, (but are better than almost half of the teams ranking in at 14) and they don’t share the ball averaging 20 assists a game (ranked 24th in the Association). Detroit is also about middle of the pack shooting the basketball but in turn they’re one of the worst free th...

The Detroit Pistons knew that they were not going to compete for a championship this year and that the playoffs were most likely not in the picture either, so this year was designated to develop their promising young talent. Greg Monroe may be the most underrated player in the NBA and is one of the most skilled offensive big men in the game and has continued to develop and Andre...
For those who have been fortune enough to either play with or help coach Jose Calderon during 7-year NBA career, the one word you often hear used should not come as a shock: professional.
Regardless if he was running the show in Toronto, fending off annual trade rumors and now even during his early days in Detroit, Calderon remains a true pro since being traded to the Pistons...
Just weeks after completing a deal that landed Jose Calderon from the Memphis Grizzlies, the Pistons may not be finished reshaping their roster.
According to ESPN’s Chris Broussard, the Spurs recently talked to the Pistons and Raptors regarding a trade involving 23-year-old forward DeJuan Blair.
SA offered D Blair to Detroit but nothing. Hear Boston, Miami, Portland could have...
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. With his contract expiring at season's end, Jose Calderon might be the Detroit Pistons' point guard for only a few months.
Then again, maybe not. So far, he's giving the team a lot of reasons to think about bringing him back.
Wednesday, with the Washington Wizards trying to take away his passing lanes, Calderon turned into a shooter, hitting six...

In a game with a sleepy atmosphere and a dearth of memorable plays, the Wizards failed to put forth a solid closing effort, losing 96-85 to the Detroit Pistons. In sum, it was a tale of two halves.
In the first half...
Will Bynum has an expiring contract, which could make him easier for the Pistons to trade.
The Detroit Pistons were looking to move on from a blowout loss to the New Orleans Hornets. The Washington Wizards were on a 4 game win streak over some playoff teams. Jose Calderon scored eight of the Pistons first 10 points, knocking down two 3-pointers, and Greg Monroe had a layup. It was a competitive [...]
