THE `BURBS - Some of you see Earl Watson as another case of, "What the #@%& are the Pacers doing?"
Others see it as, "Not flashy, but a solid move."
I'm with the second group.
If you haven't noticed, the Pacers are avoiding going for the "slam dunk moves."
They can't make those moves because they don't have the money and they are reluctant to give up any of their young core players.
You can't blame them because they would have to start over if the short-term move doesn't work and it ended up costing them one of their building blocks.
Getting Watson basically sealed the deal that the Pacers weren't going to match Toronto's four-year, $20-million offer to Jarrett Jack.
I remember a Pacers official telling me a couple of years ago that he liked Watson because he's a solid defender.
The Pacers have to hope that Watson, who fell out of the rotation in Oklahoma City, can still defend at a high level at the ...
