For some reason, I have been especially annoyed by the recent onslaught on stories relating to Richard Jefferson and his fiancee calling off their wedding.
Mostly, I just feel like life happens to all of us. Whether we are NBA players or MBA students, we shouldn't have to deal with public scrutiny when it comes to our personal lives.
The counter case that may be made is that Richard Jefferson is a celebrity because he plays in the NBA, and as such, his entire life is fairly under a microscope.
I have had the honor of performing two wedding ceremonies as a minister (certified via the internet). The experience of being married is both extremely joyful and stressful to the intended bride and groom.
It's a lifelong commitment, and if the individuals involved are unwilling or unable to fulfill their vows, then I fully support their choice not to marry.
More importantly, in this context, it's none of your damn business, and should not be included in the "sports" ne...
