Is Oklahoma City growing up before our eyes? Is this the Thunder's time? The answer to both questions could come as early as Wednesday.

"We never just thought that we were supposed to wait our turn," Kevin Durant said after Monday's 108-103 win in San Antonio. "We always wanted to go and take everything.

"Coach always emphasizes that every opportunity we step out on that floor is a great opportunity to get better and grow and fight toward our dreams, and we all knew that. We've been together for so long, and we just had to keep pressing. We've got a long ways to go still. We've just got to take it a day at a time."

Oklahoma City is one victory away from the NBA Finals after taking Game 5. Not only have the Thunder upstarts beaten the Spurs in three consecutive games, they handed San Antonio its first home loss since April 11.

Durant, Russell Westbrook and James Harden combined for 70 points in Game 5, each taking turns making clutch plays down the stretch. Oklahoma City, which nearly squandered a 13-point lead in the fourth quarter, leads the Western Conference finals 3-2.

Wednesday night is a closeout opportunity at Chesapeake Arena. The Spurs won't go down quietly.

"This team is not about to lay down or nothing like that," Westbrook said. "They're going to come in and try to win, and we've got to be ready to play."
