Kevin Durant made an MVP-like statement with 29 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists as the visiting Oklahoma City Thunder kept pace with the San Antonio Spurs atop the Western Conference with a 103-82 win over the Sacramento Kings. James Harden added 20 points and Russell Westbrook scored 18 for the Thunder (46-17), who remained one-half game behind the Spurs (46-16) with three games left in the regular season. The Kings, losers of nine of 10, were playing their second-to-last game at Power Balance Pavilion. With the deal for a new arena falling through and negotiations between ownership and the city of Sacramento contentious, the regular-season finale next Thursday could mark the last home game in the building. Oklahoma City ended the first quarter with an 8-2 burst for a 32-25 cushion and never trailed again. Harden scored 11 in the second quarter to keep the Thunder in the lead, 57-49, at the half. The Kings made a pair of runs in the third but were held off as Durant knock...

Who is the REAL NBA MVP?

The NBA MVP debate has heated up, then cooled down. Then it heated up again, and then it cooled down, again. It seems that the MVP has come down to two players: Miami Heat forward LeBron James and Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant. Durant also has an argument for the award. He is averaging 27.8 ppg and 8 rpg. While he doesn’t boast the same assists per game like LeBron...

Earlier today, the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Oklahoma City Thunder in double overtime but the most memorable moment came in the second period after Metta World Peace threw down a dunk. After throwing down the jam, Peace celebrated the jam by accidentally throwing an elbow at OKC's James Harden which knocked him to the ground. Metta would be ejected for the elbow and Harden...

Harden dazzles in return to stomping grounds

By Hod Rabino DevilsDigest.com In a shortened NBA season, Sun Devil fans had to wait nearly 60 games to watch former ASU standout, James Harden, make his only appearance near his old college stomping grounds. As it turns out, the long wait was certainly worthwhile. Harden was unstoppable scoring a career-high 40 points as he led the Oklahoma City Thunder past the Phoenix Suns 109...

Foul on Harden reminiscent of Metta's past

LOS ANGELES When Ron Artest changed his name to Metta World Peace last summer, it was in some ways a metaphor for a more profound transformation the one from pariah to the NBA's citizen of the year. Many steps of the jagged journey, through his own therapy, his advocacy for mental health issues and his fight to participate in a game within the mores of society, let alone the...

Ron Artest Delivers A Powerful Elbow To James Harden’s Head

World Peace, huh?  For those of you who weren’t watching the first half of Thunder @ Lakers, Ron Artest wound up and swung a pretty vicious elbow in the direction of James Harden, catching him right upside the head.  On first glance I thought Artest had inadvertently struck Harden, but replays clearly show that Ron felt Harden on his side, wound up, and cracked him right below...

Ron Artest Should Be Suspended Into Playoffs For Throwing Elbow at James Harden

Ron Artest is a thug. Plain and simple. He can call himself “Metta World Peace,” but it doesn’t matter. And David Stern should suspend him into the playoffs for the vicious elbow he threw at James Harden last night. He can legally change his name to whatever he wants, but he is the same Ron Artest who played a major role in the most abominable sports fight known as the Malice...

Metta World Peace Spreads Elbows, Not Good Tidings (Video)

In a play that will go down in Ron Artest/Metta World Peace infamy, the Lakers forward was ejected from Los Angeles' game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday after sending his elbow into the side of James Harden's head. World Peace had just made a fantastic move to the rim, and his ebullience after the play could have been why he was moving his arms so much on his...

Metta World Cheap

In case you missed it, the artist formerly known as Ron Artest delivered a blow to James Harden’s medulla oblongata, which knocked Harden out of the game with concussion-like symptoms. MWP said the elbow was completely unintentional, claiming that it was just a result of being overly excited from dunking over Serge Ibaka. I too would be pumped if I dunked over Mr. Iblocka, hell...
