Found June 16, 2013 on Ride The Pine:

San Antonio Spurs Danny Green is having the most surprising performance of the 2013 NBA Finals.  Going into halftime of Game 5, he has already made 21 3-pointers which is one behind the NBA Finals record held by Ray Allen. However, Green’s Finals almost came to a disastrous end when he was almost taken out by Tim Duncan’s kid.  Green was running towards the locker room after doing a halftime interview with ABC’s Doris Burke, when he was caught off guard by Duncan chilling in the hallway with his kids – in mask. Besides almost running over a Duncan, Green almost went face first into the hallway wall.   The post Tim Duncan’s Kid Almost Takes Out Danny Green appeared first on Ride The Pine.

NBA Finals: San Antonio Spurs game 4 recap, game 5 preview

The defending champs didn’t stay down for long. With their backs against the wall, the Miami Heat rebounded to post a strong 109-93 victory against the San Antonio Spurs and reclaim home-court advantage in the series. Dwyane Wade and LeBron James awoke from dreadful slumps to each score more than 30 points, attacking relentlessly and efficiently against a Spurs team that just didn’t...

Tim Duncan Plays With His Children at Halftime of Spurs’ Game 5 Win in NBA Finals (Video)

Life is not easy for Tim Duncan right now. While leading the Spurs in a back-and-forth NBA Finals against the Miami Heat, Duncan is going through a messy divorce with his wife, Amy, with divorce proceedings due to proceed as soon as the Spurs’ season is finished. With that in mind, Duncan was not about to waste an opportunity to be with his kids on Father’s Day — even if he...

Video: Danny Green sets NBA Finals record for 3-pointers

Danny Green scored 24 points to help the San Antonio Spurs topple the Miami Heat on Sunday. 18 of Green’s points game of the 3-point sharpshooting that has become his trademark. Green and key performances from Ginobili (24 points, 10 assists) and Tony Parker ( 26 points) largely kept the Heat at bay on their way to the 114-104 victory. The Spurs now hold a 3-2 series lead over...

Danny Green Has a Question for Ray Allen (best GIF ever)

In case you missed it, San Antonio Spurs shooting guard Danny Green has been lights out from behind the arc hitting a record 25 three pointers through five games; a number good enough to break the record for most three's made in a Finals series. Breaking the record was great. Doing it in a winning effort in Game 5 even better, but what made it the best was that the old record...

2013 NBA Finals: How unprecedented would a Danny Green MVP be?

The San Antonio Spurs lead the Miami Heat 3–2 in the 2013 NBA Finals and will have a chance to finish the series tonight in Miami (8 p.m. Central Time on ABC). With the Spurs so close to a title, the question, “Could—or should—Danny Green be the NBA Finals MVP?” has been coming up a lot on blogs, social media, podcasts, and among people who are paid to kill time debating...

Danny Green now greatest NBA Finals 3 point shooter ever

If the San Antonio Spurs win the NBA Finals, then forward Danny Green should be your NBA Finals MVP. Green has been a hero for the Spurs this NBA Finals, and with it he’s becoming America’s Sweetheart. Danny Green was 6-for-10 from the 3-point line — setting an NBA Finals record for most 3-pointers in a series (25) — and he scored 24 points to put the Spurs a win away from...

San Antonio Spurs’ Danny Green Sets NBA Finals Record For Three-Pointers

In front of former record holder, Ray Allen, and against the former record  holder’s team, the Miami Heat, Danny Green set a new NBA Finals record for three-pointers in Game 5 of the NBA Finals. It would be Green’s fourth three-pointer of Game 5 against the Heat on Sunday that would mark his 23rd three-pointer [...]The post San Antonio Spurs’ Danny Green Sets NBA Finals Record...

What would fifth Duncan title mean?

It's all right in front of Tim Duncan now, and the big fella can feel it. You can tell when he broke out that little spin move in the paint in Game 5 on Sunday night, a nimble little display of footwork that has mostly been in mothballs for the past four or five seasons. You can tell by the elevation he got on a first-quarter dunk, one of the most emphatic he's had in years...

Chris Bosh: Danny Green ‘won’t be open tonight’

After allowing San Antonio Spurs guard Danny Green to set a Finals record with 25 3-pointers in just five games, the Miami Heat and center Chris Bosh are not going to let the 25-year-old have his way in Game 6 Tuesday night. “He has a knack for shooting, but he

Tim Duncan Does His Fatherly Duties At Halftime

You want to know how smoove San Antonio Spurs Tim Duncan is?  He so smoove that he brought his kids to work on Father’s Day and spent some time doing his fatherly duties at halftime during the NBA Finals.  Are you kidding me?  The most important game in the series and this man is spending time with the kiddos! Well it must have worked because Tim did contribute 17points...

Tim Duncan curing Manu Ginobili’s baldness makes a phenomenal GIF

Manu Ginobili had a nice game against the Miami Heat on Sunday night as his San Antonio Spurs took a 3-2 lead in the NBA Finals. Ginobili scored 13 points in 30 minutes of play, but none of his baskets were as special as what Tim Duncan did for him at some point during the [...]

Tim Duncan Throws It Down Over Mario Chalmers (Video)

Sunday was the day the San Antonio Spurs and the Miami Heat met for Game 5 of the 2013 NBA Finals and in the first half it’s clearly been all about the San Antonio Spurs who have had a beautiful offense. While, the Miami Heat have struggled to form any kind of a semblance of an [...]The post Tim Duncan Throws It Down Over Mario Chalmers (Video) appeared first on The NBA Mistress.

Making Sense of the NBA Finals

Danny Green has been lights out for the Spurs so far. (Photo credit) I don’t want to write about LeBron’s fourth quarter disappearing act (three points, 1-5 from the field). There’ll be plenty of time for that after the series if Miami loses. I suppose Miami’s move to small-ball is interesting, but it had the inadvertent side effect of getting Tiago Splitter off of the floor...

The 'Effort' Narrative

Sports media is the most polarizing, glorified, and over-valued arm of all the journalistic outlets. Yet, it only exists in this nature because you (and I), the fan, continually create an overwhelming demand of all things sports-related. Think about where media coverage was in both 1993 and 2003. Journalists dominated in both decades with the only difference being the Naughts...
