Rookie Tim Hardaway Jr. came on strong Monday night for the New York Knicks, absolutely raining three-pointers all game long against the Philadelphia 76ers. Hardaway Jr. nailed 5-of-7 from behind the arch and went 9-of-13 from the field, leading the Knicks to their fourth consecutive win with playoff hopes still alive. His hot shooting off the bench for a game-high 28 points was too much for the Sixers to handle. This was a great team effort, as three of the Knicks starters finished in double digits. Carmelo Anthony and J.R. Smith both contributed 22 points, while Amar’e Stoudemire had 23. The Knicks managed to cling to a 91-85 lead in the fourth quarter after turning the basketball over 13 times throughout the game. Smith and Hardaway had the green light in the fourth, scoring a combined 14 points in five minutes to spark a 19-7 New York Knicks run. NBA.com has words from the sharpshooting rookie about the fourth-quarter effort: We built a nice lead in the fourth, we did a nice job of getting deflections, getting stops, running and knocking down open shots. Despite the absence of center Tyson Chandler, the Knicks managed to find sensational production from Stoudemire, who shot 9-of-10 from the field. The Knicks gave the 76ers their 17th consecutive loss Monday night 123-110. Head Coach Mike Woodson’s reflections on the game, via NBA.com:  We’re just trying to take it one game at a time. … We dug such a deep hole, but we’re fighting and that’s a good sign. … These guys haven’t quit and we’re trying to get that eighth spot.
