Ricky Rubio took the next step in his recovery yesterday as he was cleared for full-contact practice. The Minnesota Timberwolves point guard has been sidelined since blowing out is knee in March. Now, as it seems the Timberwolves are getting increasingly healthier, Rubio can once again practice and will hopefully be back on the court soon. According to Mark Remme of NBA.com, Rubio consulted with his doctor in Vail, Colorado and has been cleared to practice with no limitations. This means Rubio could return to game action as soon as he has shown his conditioning has him game-ready. Remme says that when Rubio does return to games, he will be limited early on to 16-18 minutes per game. The Wolves recently got Kevin Love back from injury and would love to have the team back to full strength. In order for the club to understand exactly what they have on the roster, they need to see everyone playing together at the same time. Rubio's progress is encouraging.Rubio will be entering his second year in the league. Last season, he averaged 10.6 points per game and 8.2 assists per game. He was an integral part of the Timberwolves' offense last season until he was injured. He suffered a similar injury to Derek Rose's, but he suffered it earlier than Rose.
