The Houston Rockets’ Kevin Martin just hasn’t been the same since the vetoed blockbuster trade that would have sent him, along with two teammates, to New Orleans. After a career season in 2010-11 when he averaged 23.4 points per game and shot nearly 90 percent from the free throw line, Martin is currently pouring in only 16.5 points per game and disappearing from contests at a higher rate than ever.
Whether the decline in production and consistency (Martin scored four points in the season opener, 25 in the second game) is due to discontent over the trade that wasn’t, new NBA rule changes making it more difficult for Martin to draw fouls with his vaunted pump-fakes, or his reliance on outside shooting — he is shooting his lowest percentage from three-point range since his rookie season —it is undeniable Martin is regressing.

Chandler Parsons Deserves Starting Role
I never thought I’d utter these words, but Chandler Parsons deserves to start for the Houston Rockets at small forward. The faux hawk and face dotted with youthful acne gives Parsons, a rookie second round draft pick out of Florida, an appearance that’s more pool boy than NBA baller.
But after three solid performances, including his first NBA start versus Oklahoma City...

Goran Dragic started his second consecutive game for injured incumbent Kyle Lowry last night in a 98-95 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, and he played the best game of his Rockets career.
Dragic scored 20 points and dished eight assists. He contributed to Houston’s big run in the third quarter, when they took a 12-point lead, by draining a pair of threes and slashing past...

Houston Rockets: Five Reasons For Loss To OKC
The Houston Rockets looked at times last night as if they were going to pull away for a shocking victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder at the Toyota Center. After suffering a blowout the night before in Oklahoma and missing Kyle Lowry and Courtney Lee to injury, the odds were stacked against the shorthanded Rockets. But Houston held a 12-point lead late in the 3rd quarter and even...

Bobcats's skid continues with loss to Rockets
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- Kevin McHale has been around the NBA long enough to know that not every win can be pretty.

Should Houston Tank?
No prize exists in the NBA for merely good teams. Unless your franchise is equipped with championship caliber superstars or promising youth, trudging through the land of bottom seeds or playoff contention yields no tangible reward but the silent pride that the team you follow, run, or play for is competitive. The allure of an early lottery selection is reserved for the truly awful...
