Larry Brown Sports:
Phony Twitter accounts are so prevalent these days, even the best of us have been fooled by them. TNT’s “Inside the NBA” was a victim of a phony tweet on Thursday.
Before the Los Angeles Lakers-Boston Celtics game, the crew was discussing the Rising Stars game for which Shaq and Charles Barkley will be coaches NBA All-Star Weekend. The two TNT analysts chose their rosters, and Shaq selected Golden State Warriors second-year player Klay Thompson. TNT showed the tweet below, which was posted by someone running a phony Thompson account:
Not realizing the tweet was not sent by the real Klay Thompson, Shaq and Chuck broke it down as if it were real.
“That’s right! You tell ‘em Klay Trey!” said Shaq.
“You know I’m a big Klay fan now, but you’re going to get beat down like a drum,” Barkley responded to the fake trash talker. “You got two point guards who won’t pass you the ball, so don’t worry about shooting.”
Both Shaq and Chuck went on to rave about Thompson, with Barkley saying T

With the return of Andrew Bogut, the Golden State Warriors are finally at full strength and the defensive backbone of the team has returned. With a team full of offensively gifted players, headlined by Stephen Curry and David Lee, Bogut does not need to carry any type of offensive burden. like he did in Milwaukee and can stick to what he does best, defend the paint, block shots in...
Warriors point guard Jarrett Jack is questionable for Friday’s contest against the Grizzlies, according to Rusty Simmons of the Chronicle.
Jack didn’t practice Thursday and missed Wednesday’s 119-98 loss to the Thunder with a right shoulder contusion.
Jack has been an anchor off bench this season for the Warriors. But the second unit struggled with production and establishing...
Andrew Bogut will sit out Wednesday's game to rest his ankle. It's a back-to-back game, so this was expected. Andris Biedrins should get the start.
But there's a surprised scratch: Jarrett Jack. Warriors beat writer Marcus Thompson reported that the backup point guard is out with a bruised shoulder. He's questionable for Friday's game.
OKLAHOMA CITY Funny how beating up on Dallas and Golden State in a two-game span does wonders.
For attitude. For national perception. For general well-being.
Hey, it's not like these guys are made out of wood. Everyone has feelings, and sometimes a little confidence boost is a good thing even for a team as good as the Thunder.
Monday, Dallas played the role of slump-buster...
Good win for the Thunder. Warriors fans spent more time complaining about their own players than the Thunder. They also got the obligatory “This is rigged” and “the refs are giving OKC the game” posts in there but at least it wasn’t as much as usual. That first picture is pretty funny. My favorites are [...]
If we are talking about athletic guards in the NBA, there are few like Oklahoma City guard Russell Wesbrook.During tonight's game against the Golden State Warriors, watch as Russell in transition makes an incredible scoop lay-up after a block by Serge Ibaka:
Just a week ago, the Golden State Warriors edged past the Dallas Mavericks without Stephen Curry.
This time, they'll likely need him to avoid their longest skid of the season.
Curry and the Warriors look to snap their three-game losing streak and sweep a season series from the Mavericks for the first time in six years Saturday night.
