Found March 12, 2012 on Fox Sports Arizona:
The Minnesota Timberwolves' first game without Ricky Rubio didn't evoke much optimism. It's not going to get any easier as the Timberwolves embark on a season-high seven-game road trip Monday night against a surging Phoenix Suns team that has won nine straight in the series. With Rubio and All-Star Kevin Love leading the way, it appeared Minnesota (21-21) could earn its first playoff berth since 2004. It entered Friday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers tied with Houston for eighth place in the Western Conference, but its playoff hopes now appear grim. Rubio's left knee buckled with 16 seconds remaining in the 105-102 loss to the Lakers, and a day later an MRI confirmed that the point guard tore his ACL and is done for the season. The 21-year-old was averaging 10.6 points, 8.2 assists and was third in the league with 2.2 steals per game. With its floor leader sidelined, Minnesota's playoff push didn't get off to an encouraging start. Hosting New O...

Wolves must put Rubio's injury behind them

What on Friday morning looked like a challenging, two-week road trip has become something more, a chance for the Timberwolves to prove themselves under the most adversity the young team has yet faced. When Minnesota takes the court in Phoenix on Monday for the first of seven consecutive road games, it will be somewhat of a beginning. It's game 43 of the season. It should be...

Last year Rubio finally signed with T-Wolves, meaning the creative and gifted passer compared by many to Pete [...]

Wolves Fear Torn ACL For Rubio

Ricky Rubio will have an MRI on his left knee on Saturday, several hours after his knee buckled in the final moments of Minnesota's loss to the Lakers.

The Starting Lineup: Ricky Rubio Injures His Knee

Unfortunately, yesterday’s biggest news isn’t good news. Ricky Rubio may or may not have sustained a serious knee injury in the closing seconds of last night’s loss to the Lakers… we won’t know for sure until later today, after he’s had an MRI.  If you haven’t seen the play, here it is.  To me, it doesn’t look as bad as you may imagine.  However, you never can...

Late-game poise, energy propels Wolves

That needed to happen. It was closer than they might have liked, but the result was all that mattered when the Timberwolves began their seven-game road trip with a 127-124 win over Phoenix. It was the Timberwolves' highest-scoring game of the season, but even that didn't guarantee the win in a back-and-forth game. The Suns came out to 34-28 lead after the game's first...
