Ray Allen may be getting old, but he's still drawing plenty of interest in free agency. The Grizzlies reportedly are in big.
To be clear, Danny Ainge spoke as if Jeff Green will almost certainly sign at end of moratorium so essentially he's back with #Celtics.— Scott Souza (@scott_souza) July 2, 2012
Chris Broussard also added:
"His agent, David Falk, told me Boston is the first, second and third option for Jeff Green."
Seems like this is a done deal? Though, there was never a serious...
Free agent guard Ray Allen plans to visit the Miami Heat and Los Angeles Clippers later this week. Allen, who helped get the Boston Celtics to the Eastern Conference finals this past season, will meet with the NBA champion Heat on Thursday and the Clippers on Friday, according to ESPN The Magazine. Miami can only offer Allen the mini mid-level exception of just over $3 million...
There appears to be no shortage of interest in free agent Ray Allen, but teams other than the Celtics may have to up the ante. The C's are willing to double whatever the Heat offer Allen, according to ESPN's Chris Broussard. They're reportedly willing to give Allen $12 million over two years, although they've yet to make an official offer. The Grizzlies have reportedly...
Winning it all has certainly changed LeBron James, and he's hoping it will change Ray Allen's jersey choice, too. With a title under his belt, James is back on Twitter, and he's been using his feed for some self-congratulation as well as a sneak peak at what Allen could look like in Heat colors. James retweeted a photo of Allen in Miami threads on Tuesday and more than...
Among the uncertainties surrounding whether the Celtics will re-sign Ray Allen and Jeff Green, at least one thing isn't in question -- the coach's opinion. Doc Rivers said Sunday that he wants the C's to bring back both Allen and Green, who are free agents this offseason. He seemed to think Boston would have a pretty good chance getting both players to stay. "We...
MINNEAPOLIS The Timberwolves confirmed Tuesday that they have met with free agent forwards Greg Stiemsma, Nicolas Batum and Jordan Hill. Team representatives were also on a call with free agent Ray Allen on Monday.
In the first two days of free agency, which began at 11 p.m. on Saturday night, the Timberwolves brought three free agents to Minneapolis. Greg Stiemsma, a forward who...
If Doc Rivers really thinks the Celtics will re-sign guard Ray Allen, that faith from the C's head coach may start being tested very soon. NBA.com reports that the team has put its pursuit of the future Hall of Famer on hold, as Allen is reportedly set to visit the Heat and then the Clippers later this week. According to the report, Allen will meet with Miami on Thursday and...
When last season opened, every prediction involving the Celtics included an addendum: "if they can stay healthy." A team dominated by three players 34 years old or older and a fourth, center Jermaine O'Neal, just past his 33rd birthday was bound to run into medical issues eventually. Injuries indeed played a factor in Boston's inability to get past the Miami Heat...
Re-signing Ray Allen likely remains the top priority for the Celtics, but they have reportedly begun searching for a replacement just in case he signs elsewhere. The C's are pursuing Jason Terry, and have also shown interest in Nick Young, according to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski. Terry has been with the Mavericks since 2004 but is currently a free agent. Known for...
The most succesfull sports soap opera in history is back again – the NBA free agent season – and there are no shortage of story lines for just about every fan out there. Some of the characters may be a little old and yeah, the story lines can seem a bit ridiculous at times, but it’s still must watch TV. There are characters that we’ve seen before (Dwight Howard, Deron...
The Celtics may be losing Ray Allen in free agency, but they’re hoping they have found a proper replacement.
Boston reportedly has agreed on a three-year deal with free agent Jason Terry. The deal is for the mid-level exception and is expected to be worth more than $15 million.
Terry was said to be a possibility for the Heat, but they may be focusing on Ray Allen instead.

So Marc Spears is reporting that the Celtics will be aquiring Jason Terry for the mid-level exception and still plan to sign Ray Allen. How, why or when are all questions left to people with a better knowledge of the NBA salary cap than me.
It’s good to know that if Allen doesn’t re-sign that there will be some security in the form of Terry, but Ray can’t be happy about this...
