Found May 07, 2013 on Turn On The Knicks:
It wasn’t just salt on a rim that left a bitter taste in the mouths of Knicks fans on Cinco de Mayo. After an ugly final three games against the Boston Celtics in Round 1, the Knicks kept their rocky play going in Game 1 against the Indiana Pacers on Sunday. The Knicks lost 102-95 in a sloppy game where Melo shot 10-28 and J.R. Smith shot 4-15, however in Game 2, “The Game of Adjustments” (The more important game) The Knicks showed why they finished ahead of the Pacers and why they are the team to beat this series. Mike Woodson made sure that the team made improvements containing the NBA’s Most Improved Player, Paul George on the perimeter and Roy Hibbert down low. The Knicks responded to these adjustments and made big plays on the defensive end. They were forcing turnovers and turning them into points which allowed them to rely less on the three-pointer, which for this “Live by the three, Die by the three” team has been dying of late. Towards the end of the second half the Pacers ...

J.R. Smith Rips Bandwagon Knicks Fans, Says He Wasn’t Partying (Photo)

Knicks guard J.R. Smith has done a pretty good job of trying to avoid meltdowns and becoming a distraction to his team.  In the last week though, Smith has caught flak for partying it up before the Knicks game four loss to the Celtics. The Knicks were able to move on and win the series, so no big deal.  Now Smith is on the radar for allegedly partying to hard Saturday night, hours...

Melo and Smith Need to Get Going…PERIOD!

Pacers and Knicks Battle  Since Sunday I have been thinking about this Knicks team and their future in the NBA playoffs. Many Knicks fans are adamant that the Knicks will win this series and challenge the Miami Heat for the ECF title with the right to represent the East in the NBA Finals. However, there are many fans like myself that are realistic. I understand basketball and what...

Iman Shumpert sports crazy, colorful shoes

If Knicks guard Iman Shumpert isn’t catching crazy one-handed putback dunks (GIF below), he’s apparently rocking some fly-a$$ shoes. TNT’s Rachel Nichols captured Shump’s Adidas shoes with a photo she posted to Twitter: Shoe game: Knicks’ Iman Shumpert (@i_am_iman)… — Rachel Nichols (@Rachel__Nichols) May 8, 2013 The Knicks evened up the...

Knicks Coach Mike Woodson Curses Out J.R. Smith After Guard Commits Traveling Violation (Video)

Anybody who has ever watched J.R. Smith play for an extended period of time feels Mike Woodson‘s pain. Smith caught the ire of the Knicks’ head coach early on in New York’s win over the Pacers in Game 2. After Smith was called for a travel, Woodson channeled the frustrations of legions of Knicks fans with the only suitable reaction to about three-quarters of Smith’s plays...

NY Knicks: J.R. Smith learning a lot about being a leader, he may be too intoxicated to retain it

New York Knicks fans definitely have an idea of the head-case that is J.R. Smith. They put up with it because, on most occasions, the Sixth Man of the Year Smith shows up for games. However, during the Knicks first round series against the Celtics and, after game one against the Indiana Pacers, the ugly Smith showed up.  Why? Maybe because the Sixth Man has become the Party-Man...

Mike Woodson Tells J.R. Smith What Everyone Is Thinking

J.R. Smith is a very large thorn in the side of Knicks head coach Mike Woodson, and, because we’re not lucky enough to sit within shouting distance of the home bench at Madison Square Garden, we can only dream about all the wonderful things Woodson says in response to J.R.’s boneheaded decisions. Well, dream no more! Late in the first quarter of Tuesday night’s thrashing of...

Iman Shumpert Skies for Vicious One-Handed Putback Dunk Against Pacers (Video)

This is probably a good time to mention that Iman Shumpert and Derrick Rose tore their ACLs on the same day last year. Shumpert, whose knee injury has healed much faster than Rose’s, showed just how healthy he is on Tuesday. In the second quarter of the Knicks’ game against the Pacers, Shumpert rose up to rebound a miss by Chris Copeland and threw down the putback dunk in one...

Mike Woodson extremely frustrated with J.R. Smith

J.R. Smith is doing a mighty fine job of reminding New York Knicks fans of what it was like with John Starks in the lineup more than a decade ago. And we are talking about the bad times. Just look at Smith’s last two games where he has shot a combined 7 of 30 from the field. His play has looked incredibly sloppy at times, just like last night when Tyson Chandler found him underneathe...

JR Smith took aim at some fans following the New York Knicks’ 102-95 loss to the Indiana Pacers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals at Madison Square Garden on Sunday night. Rumors circulated late Saturday/early Sunday that Smith, who by his own admission has partied too much in the past, was out at a club late into the evening. Mike Woodson: J.R. Smith Might See Less Playing Time If Slump Continues

Something is going on with Knicks guard J.R. Smith and if he doesn’t fix it, he might be glued to the bench.  Smith has been in a terrible slump since elbowing Jason Terry during the Celtics series. New York head coach Mike Woodson was on ESPN Radio, and let it be known Smith could lose his time if he doesn’t start shooting the ball well. “I’ll gauge J.R. as we go along...
