PLAYERS: DeMar DeRozan
TEAMS: Toronto Raptors
The Deal:  4 years- 40 million Demar Derozan is a good offensive player, with elite potential. However he is inefficient, a poor long-range shooter, a ball-hog, a bad defender and just not a ten million dollar player. However, that has not stopped the Toronto Raptors from giving him a forty million dollar contract. Derozan is a very gifted player on offense and an explosive athlete, capable of putting up 20 points a night and he has the pure potential to become one of the very best offensive players in the league. However, he is extremely inconsistent and cannot seem to put together a string of successful games. Scoring is not the problem, it is all of the other things that a player must do to help his team, that he struggles with. He is a player who will get great stats, but it will not lead to team success and until he learns that, he simply is not worth that much money. However he is still packed with potential, and if he does finally put it all together this deal could become a ...

Landry Fields botches easy layup

The Toronto Raptors agreed to pay former Knicks small forward Landry Fields $20 million over three years during the off-season. Do they wish they could take the deal back? They’d probably answer ‘yes’ at this point. Through four games, Fields is averaging a measly 2.5 points a game in 22 minutes of action. At the same time, Fields is missing easy layups like this one against...

Day 6: Getting High on Lowry

I don’t remember where I heard it or read it. I think it was on listening to commentary during a pre-season game. Someone said that he didn’t think Kyle Lowry would do well this season. He was coming off a career year with the Houston Rockets and was now with a new team, the Toronto Raptors. The outlook wasn’t looking good that he would replicate his stellar season. I listened...

Kevin Durant Gets Baptismal On Jonas Valanciunas

We at Cosby Sweaters are still searching for a good term to replace “posterize,” and for this gem we have chosen to go with baptismal. Kevin Durant took absolutely no mercy on election night when he dunked all over rookie Jonas Valanciunas. The Thunder dominated the Toronto Raptors 108-88 and there is no word if Jonas will return to the NBA following that embarrassment. Article...

Mavs dump Raptors for third win in a row

The Raptors trailed by double digits for most of the game but came back with a late charge, getting to within five points twice in the final minute...
