Universal Takeover Sports Network:
Tracy McGrady recently retired after a wonderful 16-year career in the NBA. McGrady finished his career with 19,490 points, two scoring titles, seven All-Star appearances and seven All-NBA teams.
McGrady was one of the best pure scorers in the NBA during his time but he will also be remembered for never winning an NBA championship. McGrady suffered numerous injuries throughout his career and instead of chasing a title as a bench warmer, he decided to call it quits.
During an interview with Hoops World, McGrady said “I was just drained and tired of all the bullsh*t to be honest with you. Not really getting the opportunity to show what I could do, I wasn’t going to put myself through that kind of situation again.
“Right now, I’m just enjoying my life and enjoying being free. It hasn’t been that way since I was 18 years old; every year grinding it out, getting my body ready for the NBA’s rigorous regular season. I’d be in training camp and preseason right now, but instead I get to relax and be with my kids, just enjoying life. My kids love it and I’m really enjoying the opportunity to be around them. My boys are seven and four right now and my daughters are 10 and five. Just to be able to go out and get to see them play in their little league, basketball league and soccer league, it feels so good to be out there and to see that. I love that. They love having me there, seeing them play, and that brings joy to me. Being away and traveling all the time during an NBA season, you don’t get those opportunities so I’m enjoying it.”
McGrady seems to be enjoying life with his family at the moment but I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets an itch to return once the upcoming season begins.

BEST OF MAXIM
Tracy McGrady went from an obscure high school talent, to playing in the NBA for 16 years, scoring 19,490 points, winning two scoring titles, making seven All-Star appearances as well as seven All-NBA teams. Not a bad NBA career right there. Besides the countless injuries on his body, many wondered why McGrady was choosing to retire, rather than chase a ring with a contender. During...
The San Antonio Spurs announced Saturday via a press release that they have waived forward Josh Howard, just a day after signing him on Friday.
Though this move might be a surprise to some, Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express News wrote about why this move would happen; the reason being to put Howard in a D-League Austin Toros uniform to allow him to recover from a recent...
I have a sinking suspicion that you didn’t get to attend the San Antonio Spurs Halloween party but thanks to the pictures taken by Marco Belinelli, we have some pictoral proof of the costumes.
Check out the two below photos which shows Marco was Super Mario, Manu Ginobili as Buzz Lightyear, Kawhi Leonard as Popeye, Nando De Colo as The Mad Hatter and Tony Parker as a pirate:
San Antonio Spurs' Gregg Popovich is a hard-nosed, no-nonsense kind of NBA coach. He tells it like it is and doesn't care if you are the star of the team or the last guy on the bench. Everyone gets equal treatment. Though I suspect this might be a shock to the system for a then 19-year old rookie point guard by the name of Tony Parker.
Being the floor leader is tough...
Decades ago, NBA players wouldn’t be caught dead at comic conventions but these days, it’s almost become the norm to see at least a couple interested in Comic Con’s.
Recently, Spurs Tony Parker and Matt Bonner attended the Alamo City Comic Con and below is the picture proof thanks to Reddit user bettercallsaul3.
The first is of Tony Parker with Walking Dead actor Stephen Yuen...
If you thought Gregg Popovich’s treatment of NBA sideline reporters was bad, you haven’t seen anything. Think about how hard the San Antonio Spurs coach must be on his players. During an interview with ESPN’s SportsCenter, Spurs point guard Tony Parker admitted Popovich made him cry as a rookie. “Oh yeah,” Parker said when asked […]
The Spurs were looking for veteran help behind Kawhi Leonard and found it in a former Mavericks player.
the Spurs just signed Josh Howard to a non-guaranteed contract, according to the San Antonio Express-News. Howard is coming off a second knee surgery in the past three years, so there is a small risk in the signing.
Reports are that the Spurs still may waive Howard, so they...
The San Antonio Spurs dressed up Saturday night for the team’s annual Halloween party – Kawhi Leonard showed up as a sailor, Marco Belinelli was Super Mario, Tony Parker was Captain Hook, Manu Ginobili as Buzz Lightyear, Danny Green as a Transformer and Nando de Colo did an amazing job with the Alice in Wonderland Mad Hatter look.

The Spurs’ quixotic search for a backup small forward took a left turn Friday as the team moved to sign 10-year veteran Josh Howard to a non-guaranteed contract NBA sources say.
The deal is expected to be finalized sometime this afternoon.
For the Spurs it is a low-risk move that will require patience if it is to pay off. In fact there is a good chance the 6-foot-7 Howard will...
The San Antonio Spurs unveiled their new camoflauge alternate uniforms yesterday. While the thought is nice, could San Antonio have done a better job with the design? (Hint: yes...)
The 12th annual NBA GM survey is out and the San Antonio Spurs fared quite well among the 30 general managers. But some of the voting has us scratching our head.
It's been met with differing opinions but yesterday the San Antonio Spurs revealed their new alternative jersey which is a blend of last season's all grey alternative uniform and camouflage.
Since the Alamo City is also known as "Military City" with multiple air force bases throughout, the Spurs will wear the camo jerseys to honor those who serve.
The San Antonio Spurs have waived Josh Howard.
Howard was signed fewer than 24 hours earlier on Friday.
Howard is expected to end up with the Austin Toros, D-League affiliate of the Spurs.
Gregg Popovich and Craig Sager met yet again for another unforgettable interview during the San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets’ preseason matchup on Thursday. Sager is a league’s favorite sideline reporter, known for laid-back approach and “stylish” fashion sense. Popovich has never been the camera-happy type, and he makes sure everyone knows it. Come on Sager, you can...
