Former Michigan star Trey Burke was expected to be heavily relied upon as the Utah Jazz’s starting point guard. The rookie guard had started all three of the Jazz’s preseason games when Burke broke his right index finger in a 106-74 loss to the Clippers. With Utah now looking for other options, they are setting their sights on Chicago back-up point guard Marquis Teague. Much like Burke, Marquis Teague came into the league after leading his college team to the national title game. Teague and Kentucky won in 2012, Burke and Michigan fell to Louisville in last season’s finale. The Jazz are on a spree of stockpiling young talent, and have expressed interest in Teague before. With their first round draft pick hurt, the Jazz need a viable and young option. Teague’s current team in Chicago could also benefit from the move due to their need to cut some salary going into next season.
