Found April 04, 2013 on Turn On The Knicks:
This week’s TOK Throwback Thursday isn’t for the faint of heart. In a cruel way, Kevin Ware’s gruesome leg break has captivated America. I can’t remember the last time so many people who never expressed interest in basketball before approached me to get my take on the situation. Sadly, it has nothing to do with the beauty of the game. Ware’s injury is by far the most brutal I’ve ever seen on a basketball court, but some NBA players have come close to matching it. Today we show you how the Knicks were involved. How does Andrew Bogut’s unfortunate fall involve the Knicks, you might ask. Well, it was Amar’e Stoudemire’s missed jumper that led to the fast break. Most Bucks fans blame Stoudemire for pushing Bogut off the rim, but the contact looked incidental. Still, STAT gets booed every time he plays in Milwaukee, although the fans have to be content with management dishing Bogut off for Monta Ellis. Bogut escaped the fall with “only” a dislocated elbow. When it originally happened I...

Kenyon Martin Wants to be a Knick Next Year

Via Gary Washburn It took longer than expected for Kenyon Martin to find an NBA home this season, but the veteran forward is glad he landed with the New York Knicks. “I would love to stay a Knick,” he said. “I don’t want to go nowhere. I am proving to this organization what I can be and who I am as a person on and off the court, and I think they see that. I’m here now...

New York Knicks – A Moment Of Appreciation

The New York Knicks began this season as a punchline to many NBA analysts. They were a collection of mismatched, over the hill veterans put around a me-first gunner who couldn’t carry a team, the worst contract in the NBA and an impossible to coach bench scorer. Their offense was going to be ran by a downgrade from Jeremy Lin at point guard and they’d be forced to put too much...

TOK Game Recap – Another Win for the Knicks, Another 40-Plus for Melo

On a night where New York honored the 40th anniversary of the 1973 NBA Championship team, the current Knicks did their best to prove that their own championship aspirations are legitimate. The Knicks extended their season-high win streak to 11 games, sinking the Milwaukee Bucks 101-83 in another memorable night at The Garden, but things were not as easy as the score might have indicated...

The fact that the Knicks beat an undermanned Heat team doesn't change Chris Bosh's belief that his squad could handle them in a playoff series.

Three Hits: Knicks fly by Hawks in 4th quarter

Here are three observations from the Atlanta Hawks' 95-82 loss to the Eastern Conference's No. 2 seed, the New York Knicks, on Wednesday night: 1. Carmelo Anthony and J.R. Smith controlled the game from the tip. Anthony, who has been on a ridiculous tear during the Knicks' current 10-game winning streak, made the first basket of the game which was not a problem for...

The Knicks are flat-out steamrolling through their schedule right now and are looking to make it 11 in a row on their home floor against a sub-.500 opponent. Current Standings – New York (48-26) – 2nd in the Eastern Conference (10 games behind the Miami Heat), 1st in the Atlantic Division (5.5 games ahead of the Brooklyn Nets). Milwaukee (36-38) – 8th in the Eastern Conference...

Kevin Durant says Carmelo Anthony “can have” the scoring title

Believe it or not, the one accolade you’d expect Carmelo Anthony to have, he doesn’t. Many have attached the label of best all-around scorer to Anthony’s name for several years now. Melo can take you inside or out and is a beast on the offensive end. Even Kobe Bryant gave Melo praise as he said he’s the toughest player for him to guard. This season Carmelo has his best shot...
