Found December 27, 2012 on Orlando Magic Daily:
In two of the last three games, Orlando has statistically won the game if you look at the Four Factors. Against Toronto, Orlando shot a better effective field goal percentage, had an offensive rebound rate nine percentage points better than Toronto and had a comparable free throw rates and offensive rating. Against the Jazz, the Magic also shot a better effective field goal percentage, grabbed 34.3 percent of available offensive rebounds and were relatively comparable in offensive rating (again, depending on how it is calculated). The difference in these two games was abundantly clear even without looking at the advanced statistics. Seventeen turnovers and an 18.7 percent turnovers rate against the Raptors. Twenty turnovers and 18.5 percent turnover rate against the Jazz. Turnovers were killer in both these games as they both came down to the wire and were decided on those precious final possessions. Giving them up, obviously was not something that could be in the pl...

Getting to know the Magic: Kyle O'Quinn

For a college basketball player, its amazing how one moment in March can change a life. It is afairy-taletime for basketball players. Its a rite of duty for the favorites. POTD 12/26/12: Moe Harkless on Robin Lopez

It came down to Ed Davis and Moe Harkless on the day after Christmas.  Being that one dunk wasn’t significantly better than the other, I elected to leave the decision up to my friends from the InsideHoops forums.  In this particular instance, only a smattering of people showed up at the polls… but those who did vote selected Harkless in a unanimous decision.  I happen to agree...

The powerful dunk by the 19-year-old rookie in the second quarter finished off a Magic fast break and brought the hometown Magic fans to their feet. It was the only basket of the game by Harkless. However, Lopez got his revenge by...

Magic's defense lets down as Hornets snap 11-game skid

It figures on a night where the Magic struggled to get stops and struggled to put together good enough defense to control the game, that a defensive play -- a good one at that -- might have ultimately sealed their fate. E'Twaun Moore blocked Grivis Vasquez's runner with 25.1 seconds left and recovered the ball. The only problem was he was on the line and out of bounds...
