Losing to the Spurs was not a shock. It was sorta given that the Warriors would lose because: 1. Lots of games= tired legs. 2. Bench is not that deep compared to the Spurs or most of the league. 3. Just not enough fire power compared to several all-stars that the Spurs carry on their team. Not expecting too much, the Warriors were defeated 111-94 from a very good, solid Spurs team. Not only did the Warriors lose their 5th straight game, their last 10 out of 11 games, they also lost their starting point guard Steph Curry. Dribbling down the right side of the court, Curry seemed to sprain his own ankle and quickly called a time out while falling to the ground quickly. X-Rays showed that it was not a break but most likely a sprain. Once losing Curry, the Warriors seems to fall further into the deep end as they finished the night with 22 turnovers which translated to 20 points for the Spurs. Dorrell Wright finished the night with a career high 31 points while hitting 8 out of 10 threes, another career high. Monta Ellis was the next highest scorer with 19 points and played 40 out of the 44 minutes. Tired legs were evident as the Warriors seem to be a step slower in everything and were unable to keep the game close.
The Warriors head back to the Bay Area tonight and take on the Miami Heat at Oracle on Friday.
