The Minnesota Timberwolves have renewed their television deal with local television station WFTC My 29. The deal, which lasts for the 2012-2013 NBA season may include up to 25 regular season games, which will all be available to fans in HD. The actual broadcast schedule is still yet to be determined.
"We are excited to be returning to My29 for our over-the-air partner" said Timberwolves President Chris Wright. "My29 has proved to have a strong commitment to local programming, and continues to be a great fit for our franchise. We are thrilled to be able to provide Wolves fans with even more opportunities to watch Kevin Love, Ricky Rubio and the rest of our young team on television in what we expect to be a break-out season." This renewal marks the second time My 29 has broadcasted T'Wolves games, with the network broadcasting 12 games during the 2010-2011 NBA season.
"We are very pleased to bring our viewers many of the Timberwolves games next year," said Carol Rueppel, WFTC Vice President and General Manager. "Our partnership with the team fits well with our station's ongoing commitment to quality local sports programming."
Besides the broadcasting of games, the partnership between the two entities will also include ticket promotions, in-arena promotions, and other marketing initiatives.
