When the New Orleans Pelicans signed Tyreke Evans to a four-year deal worth $44 million, they were not planning for him to go down in the first preseason game of the year. The wing man that is expected to fill out a lineup full of All Stars and rising greats, sprained his ankle but won’t miss a lot of time according to John Reid of the Times-Picayune. Pelicans GM Dell Demps said on tonight's radio broadcast that Tyreke Evans could be out one to two weeks, but should be ready by opener. — John Reid (@JohnReid64) October 8, 2013 In August, Evans told the Times-Picayune that he was already bonding with his teammates. “Its been great that all of us have been willing to sacrifice and work together as a team,’’ Evans said. “Anytime guys want to come out and do that, that’s a good start. We’re looking to make a push to the playoffs and this is where it’s got to start in the offseason.’’ If the chemistry is right, the Pelicans could make a playoff run.
