Tyreke Evans hoped to reach an agreement to stay with the Sacramento Kings, but instead signed a four-year, $44 million contract with the New Orleans Pelicans. "It's been interesting just going through the process figuring out what was going to happen," Evans said. "But at the end of the day, it was business. We (agent Arn Tellem and Evans' family) did what was best for my career. We definitely wanted to stay in Sac, but that didn't work out, so I have an opportunity to go to New Orleans." Evans is ready to embrace any role with the Pelicans. "I'm about winning," Evans said. "I'd love to start, but if that's what it takes – for me to come off the bench to help the team, come in the game and be that energy guy on the floor, kind of like the Spurs do (with Manu Ginobili) – I have no problem with that."

Report: Kings Trade Tyreke Evans to Pelicans in 3-Team Trade

According to a report via Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, the Sacramento Kings have traded former first-round pick Tyreke Evans, to the New Orleans Pelicans, in a trade that also involves the Portland Trailblazers. As part of a sign-and-trade arrangement, Evans will come to the Pelicans on a four-year, $44 million contract. New Orleans will send guard Greivis Vasquez to the...

Report: Tyreke Evans headed to Pelicans in three-team sign-and-trade

Restricted free agent Tyreke Evans was reportedly ready to sign a four-year, $44 million offer sheet with the New Orleans Pelicans with the hopes that his current team, the Sacramento Kings, wouldn't match. Rather than lose Evans and get nothing in return or match a contract they didn't want to pay, the Kings have worked out a three-team sign-and-trade with the Pelicans and...

Tyreke Evans To The Pelicans Headlines A 3-Way Trade

image from nba.com During the past week, it had been reported that the New Orleans Pelicans were interested in the Sacramento Kings’ restricted free agent shooting guard Tyreke Evans and that he had agreed to sign a 4 year, $44M offer sheet with the team, which the Kings would not be comfortable matching. Well it turns out that the Kings were very uncomfortable with the idea of...

Sources: Kings send Evans to Pelicans

The Indiana Pacers recently made a run at New Orleans Pelicans center Robin Lopez, but those talks stalled rather quickly. Now, the Sacramento Kings, Portland Trail Blazers, and Pelicans have agreed to the parameters of a three-team deal that would send Lopez to the Trail Blazers, young star Tyreke Evans to the Pelicans, and Greivis Vasquez to the Kings, league sources told Crossover...

New Orleans Pelicans going all-in with Tyreke Evans acquisition

Last summer, the New Orleans Pelicans paid Eric Gordon a ton of money to stay in town and drafted Anthony Davis with the first overall pick in the NBA Draft.  Their makeover continued when they acquired Jrue Holiday on draft night and another dimension is added with the sign-and-trade acquisition of Tyreke Evans.  The Pelicans are certainly being aggressive and building a terrific...

AP Sources: Pelicans, Blazers, Kings make deal

People familiar with the trade say Sacramento, New Orleans and Portland have agreed to a three-team deal sending guard Tyreke Evans to the Pelicans, center Robin Lopez to the Trail Blazers and guard Greivis Vasquez to the Kings. The people, who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Thursday because NBA rules prevent confirmation of trades until July 10, say Portland...

The Sacramento Kings trade Tyreke Evans to the New Orleans Pelicans in a three-team deal

The Pelicans now have a log jam at shooting guard. Are they done making trades?

Another Big 3 Team Trade

The Pelicans (I still can’t believe I have to type that name) acquired Tyreke Evans yesterday in another big 3 team swap. The Kings were given General Greivis Vasquez and 2 second round picks, and the Trailblazers received Robin Lopez and Terrell Harris (the Pels also got Jeff Withey). It’s a curious move for a team that just successfully traded for another, much better point...
