That NBA Lottery Pick:
Later tonight, the Brooklyn Nets/Miami Heat game will be the first NBA game in a long time where players have nicknames on the back of the jerseys.
As some of the rest of the Nets nickname jerseys have trickled out over the Interwebs, Brooklyn guard Tyshawn Taylor decided to try and get some more Instagram followers with his nickname:
"@tee_y " — gunna be on the back of my jersey tonight
— tyshawn taylor (@tyshawntaylor) January 10, 2014
Currently, Taylor’s Instagram account has 31,360 followers and I think (unless he doesn’t play), he’ll get some more later tonight.

Jason Kidd hasn't worn a tie yet in 2014, and the Nets haven't lost a game either. Correlation or causation?
After a highly disappointing two months to begin the 2013-14 season, the Brooklyn Nets and embattled coach Jason Kidd needed some sort of spark to turn around their campaign.
They lost Brook Lopez on December 20th to a broken foot, meaning they would...
Kevin Garnett and the Nets won their fourth straight game Wednesday as they beat the Warriors 102-98 to snap their 10-game winning streak. Following the win, the 18-year NBA veteran, who had 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 steals, compared his offensive game to a booty call.
“I want it to be that when I dial it up, I want her to pick the phone up,” Garnett said. “Tonight, I dialed...
Don’t look now Brooklyn Nets fans but you have officially won four straight games and veteran Kevin Garnett is starting to look like the Kevin Garnett of old.
After last night’s victory over the Golden State Warriors, Garnett decided to compare his improved play as of late to a call you get from a fine lass who wants to get down to business:
“I want it to be that when I dial...
Don’t look now but both New York NBA teams are starting to ball out.
Kevin Garnett had perhaps his best game as a member of the Brooklyn Nets last night in a huge win over the Golden State Warriors. Garnett looked like his old self on offense after he scored 11 of his 13 points in the quarter, going 4-for-6 from the field and draining all three free throws.
Garnett was everywhere...
Just a few days ago, most of the basketball world had all but written off the Brooklyn Nets. Too many injuries. A core of over-the-hill veterans. A head coach who had no idea what he was doing.
A new year gives us all time to reflect and renew. We make resolutions and goals to improve our lives and attitudes. So it is with the Brooklyn Nets, or should I call them the New Years Nets...
NEW YORK -- Joe Johnson scored 32 points, Shaun Livingston helped Brooklyn dominate the second overtime after LeBron James fouled out, and the Nets beat the Miami Heat 104-95 on Friday night for their fifth straight victory.
Livingston had two baskets and two blocked shots in the second OT, finishing with 19 points, 11 rebounds and five assists over 51 minutes in a sensational effort...
Saturday’s Raptors game against the Brooklyn Nets will be “Drake Night’ at the Air Canda Centre. Despite reports that Raptors Global Ambassador Drake would not be there, he confirmed his attendance via Instagram Wednesday, also revealing the t-shirts that fans will receive at the game.

Shaun Livingston garnered his first career point-rebound double-double tonight (19 points, 11 rebounds) in addition to blocking three shots and playing great defense on LeBron and co.
This might be my latest game recap of Brooklyn Balling history (thank the LIRR) and it may be about one of the more exciting Nets wins I've covered on this site over the past few seasons...
Photo by Seth Wenig/APIt's no secret that the Brooklyn Nets are the hottest team in the NBA right now. After starting out an atrocious 10-21, something within the Nets has sparked. Since 2014 started, the Nets are undefeated at 5-0.Leading the way is Joe Johnson. After a terrible slump, he has really turned his game around:After a miserable five-game stretch when he scored 35...
It took two overtime periods to do it, but the Brooklyn Nets kept their perfect 2014 record going last night with a 102-95 double OT victory over the Miami Heat.
The first quarter was dominated by offense. Both teams put up more than 30 points and Joe Johnson had another quarter to remember. The Nets’ shooting guard dropped 22 in the first, the most any player has scored in the...
As the clock wound down inside the final minute of the first overtime of Friday night’s thriller between the Nets and Heat at Barclays Center, Shaun Livingston found himself matched up one-on-one against LeBron James while the Nets clung to a 91-89 lead.
It’s a position that would have been unthinkable as recently as Dec. 23, 2012, when he was waived by the Wizards, or even...
One of the undefeated teams in 2014, the Brooklyn Nets, hosted the defending champions Miami Heat tonight at the Barclays Center. This was their second meeting of the season and the first one was won by the Nets, who have a 4-0 record in this year. Tonight’s game was a “nickname game” in which players […]The post Brooklyn Nets Extinguish the Heat in Double Overtime appeared...
On Friday night, the Miami Heat and Brooklyn Nets faced off with their new Nickname jerseys. To get the ESPN Announcers in on the action, Jeff Van Gundy and Mike Breen were given their own jerseys, which presented some interesting nickname choices for each. Hopefully the NBA doesn’t do this again because the jerseys look awful.

It's the second night of a back-to-back, and the Nets were coming off an impressive double-overtime win over the Miami Heat. The team traveled to Toronto to try and extend their winning streak to six, but they fell short as the Raptors took over in the fourth quarter to win 96-80. The Nets don't play again until Thursday, when they take on the Atlanta Hawks in London. It was...
