Celtics Green ...a boston celtics blog.:
The Celtics again didn't play well against the Pistons and lost a game they deserved to lose. They came out with a terrible effort that made them fall behind by as many as 11. They never recovered from their horrible first quarter and lost with a fight. They came back to tie it late in the first half but it wasn't enough. During the third quarter, the Pistons started hitting their threes and the Celtics just couldn't keep up.
Tonight's USOTN goes to the performance of Rajon Rondo. Rondo's no stranger to credit, but tonight he was mostly ignored by the commentators. Rondo had 8 points, 9 rebounds, and 15 assists. He was much closer to a triple-double than it looked like. As always, if you have your own USOTN comment below. There wasn't a lot of them tonight.
Besides Rondo, plenty of other C's also had nice nights. Courtney Lee and Kevin Garnett were tied for the team lead with 16 points, while Green put in 15. Pierce again struggled with 10 points on just 5/10 shooting. Avery Bradley had just six points on 3/8 shooting while playing half injured. Chris Wilcox did not play due to his thumb injury.

Here are highlights from Rondo's performance during the game yesterday against the Chicago Bulls. Rondo dropped 30 points on 12-21 shooting, along with making 6-9 free throws. His efforts were unfortunately put to waste when the team lost in OT, 100-99. This was Rondo's season-high.

How impressive was Rondo's game yesterday...
A few days ago, we posted an article about Jason Terry's description of Rajon Rondo's really bizarre pre-game ritual:
"(Rajon Rondo's) routine is long-winded and it lasts all the way through tip-off.
It starts in the back hallway. He runs down a corridor and he throws the
ball to our team chaplain, who throws it back. Then [Rondo] runs out
into a circle, high...
Courtney Lee was one of the bright spots in yesterday's depressing loss. Here are highlights of his 16 points, 3 rebound, 2 assist, 3 steal night courtesy of OfficialCelticsHD.
Rajon Rondo and Doc Rivers talk to the media following the Celtics overtime loss to the Bulls on Firday night.

I am not even sure why I continue to post these videos because nothing Rajon Rondo does anymore impresses me. I feel as though he has already accomplished everything in the NBA and performed every type of pass ever that there is no way he can create a new pass. Keep Calm and Rajon.
After Rajon Rondo called out his teammates for not taking losses as hard as they probably should, there’s more coming out about the state of the C’s locker room.
The Celtics are a team — and that’s not counting Rajon Rondo, Paul Pierce, and Kevin Garnett — that believes because they are Celtics, because Rivers is the coach, and because the organization has been successful...
After being down 27-18 after the first quarter, the Celtics cut the deficit to 4 points at the half. The Pistons then proceeded to outscore the Celtics 29-13 in the 3rd and 22-17 in the 4th.
Kevin Garnett and Courtney Lee both scores 16 points, a game high, and Rajon Rondo flirted with a triple double, notching 8 points, 9 rebounds, and 15 assists. Box score below, highlights...
Video: Should have started for the Pats Y'day
The Boston Celtics are 20-20, third place in the Atlantic Division, and after Sunday's 103-88 loss to the Detroit Pistons, coach Doc Rivers frustration level is at an all time high.
"I gotta either find the right combination or the right guys, or we're going to get some guys out of here,"
Celtics drop a tough one at home on Friday night, falling 100-99 in OT to the Bulls. Rajon Rondo led all scorers with 30 points and Jared Sullinger continued to beast on the boards, grabbing 15 rebounds. C’s now head to Detroit for a Sunday evening game vs the Pistons. Tip-off at the Palace is at 7:30pm EST tomorrow.

The Celtics ended this game the same way they started it by watching Kyrie Irving drive to the basket essentially unchallenged as he led the Cavs to only their 11th win of the season with a 95-90 win over the plummeting Celtics. The C’s matched their season high 4 game losing streak with this loss and even a Doc Rivers post-game threat in Detroit didn’t help solve the defensive...
The Celtics are just so inconsistent. Doc was right to call them out after this game. Hopefully that gets them going. They've proved that when they give the effort they're very good. I love the Bird/Laimbeer fight. My favorite part of that was afterwards when they told Bird that Laimbeer said he was just going for the ball and Bird said that he was just giving...
The Boston Celtics matched the New England Patriots and lost by 15 points Sunday night.
The Detroit Pistons defended their home court by lowering a 103-88 beating on the visitors.
While the loss wasn't quite as meaningful as the Patriots' season-ending AFC Championship loss, it was another depressing effort for the Celtics.
After a tough overtime loss against the Chicago...
The Celtics, coming off their really tough loss to the Bulls, will play another central division team when they visit the Pistons Sunday night. Friday night's loss to Chicago was excruciating to fans. It was, in my opinion, the toughest loss to endure since game 7 of the 2010 finals. But, life(and the schedule) must go on. So here's tomorrow's five things:
