Smith The Salt Lake Tribune Published Oct 5, 2011 10:27PM MDT The Jazz are expected to soon name Sidney Lowe as an assistant coach, The Salt Lake Tribune has learned. Lowe’s hire is not 100 percent finalized. It is expected to go through, though, and could be announced as soon as Thursday. If hired, Lowe would flesh out Jazz coach Tyrone Corbin’s staff, joining assistants Scott Layden and Jeff Hornacek. Lowe resigned March 15 as North Carolina State’s coach after five seasons. Utah Jazz forward Andrei Kirilenko has signed a 3-year contract with Russia's CSKA team that he can terminate if the NBA lockout ends. The deal was announced on the team's website. Kirilenko will become an unrestricted free agent once the 2011-12 NBA campaign begins but has expressed a desire to play for the team that drafted him 24th overall in 1999.

Jazz add Lowe to complete coaching staff (AP)

The Utah Jazz have completed their coaching staff by hiring Sidney Lowe. Lowe spent the past five seasons as head coach at his alma mater, North Carolina State. He also was a teammate of Jazz coach Tyrone Corbin when they played for the Minnesota Timberwolves in 1989-90. As a player, Lowe was a second-round pick of the Chicago Bulls.
