We’ve had some pretty great moments in Olympic basketball thus far, and the best ones have yet to come with the later stages coming up. Athletic players tend to thrive in international play, as the games can get more wide open and become a track meet.
You can now add Andres Nocioni to the list of the victims.
Watch the mean crossover that Leandro Barbosa gave Nocioni in today’s...
This is as good of an ankle breaker as you will see in any basketball game, ever. Poor Andres Nocioni looked like he was a lost child wandering around a mall with his pants down around his ankles. Poor little guy will have nightmares about this for quite a while. Argentina beat Brazil to land themselves in the semi-finals.

During the Olympic match-up between Argentina and Brazil, Leandro Barbosa put on the moves on Argentina’s Andres Nocioni, doing a killer crossover and breaking his ankles. With that fake out, Barbosa was able to hit the quick three-pointer.
Barbosa finished off the game with 22 points. However, Brazil ended up losing the game 82-77 as Argentina advances to semifinals.
Every time I see a killer crossover now, I just think "BROKEN ANKLES" from the Kobe Bryant Nike commercial. Here is Brazil's Leandro Barbosa breaking Argentina's Andres Nocioni ankles in the semifinal round of the 2012 London Summer Olympics:
“Coach says that now”, confident Allen wants to start
Just after signing Kwame Brown to a two-year deal the second year being a player option, Coach Collins declared Brown the starter. Second year player Lavoy Allen, who was also re-signed will come off the bench for the Sixers. Allen, who after hearing Coach Collins statement came back with a very note worthy quote, “Coach...
The Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Lakers, Denver Nuggets and Philadelphia 76ers are engaged in a four-way blockbuster deal that could send center Dwight Howard to the Lakers, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.

"There are multiple moving parts in the fluid talks”, said Rant Sports’ Director of Content Dan Parzych. “The framework of a possible deal includes Howard and Denver forward Al Harrington going to...

Andres Nocioni going for a layup. From NBC
Argentina is preparing for a rendezvous with the US in the semifinals. The US hasn't played super amazingly through the tournament, but they've gotten the wins and certainly deserve to be playing today. With all the firepower the US has, how can Argentina overthrow them (note that this isn't a knock against Argentina)?
As part of a huge 4 team trade involving Dwight Howard, the Sixers have pulled off a major addition, acquiring Andrew Bynum from the Lakers while dealing off Andre Iguodala to the Nuggets. The details of the trade are still emerging, but as of now the deal looks something like this:Sixers get:Andrew BynumJason RichardsonLakers get:Dwight HowardNuggets get:Andre IguodalaMagic get...
They are considered the best basketball players from Argentina so much so collectively they are called the "Golden Generation." Of course I am talking about Team Argentina with San Antonio Spurs' Manu Ginobili, Carlos Delfino, Fabricio Oberto, Carlos Delfino, Luis Scola, Andres Nocioni, and Pablo Prigioni.
Together, they have been considered one of the best teams in...
The Basketball Jones: Leandro Barbosa does Andres Nocioni like Tony Skinn did James Harden and some dude did Deron Williams. Remember those “NBA Street Series” DVDs from back when AND1 was running sh!t? Yeah, well, by the time these Olympic Games wrap up we’ll have been provided with enough footage to compile another volume and kick start the old fad.
