San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich has always joked around saying Tim Duncan accuses him of holding his game back for his entire career. In other words, TD can do more than simply play the post but Pop won't unleash him. We have seen Duncan show off some three-point range (ask the Suns) and in last night's game versus Portland, he showed he can handle the ball like a point guard and lead the break. During a break in action, Pop told the bench that former NBA coach Don Nelson could have used TD as a point forward in his system.

Group of Israeli men make Popovich rap video

Fact: A group of Israeli men has made a rap video about an NBA coach. Question: Quickly, which coach do you think it is? If you said "Gregg Popovich of the San Antonio Spurs," congratulations on your understanding of Popovich's global popularity andor your understanding of popular Israeli culture. The video does seem to have an air of irony about it, although irony...

Duncan Doesn't Mind All-Star Snub, Looks At Bigger Picture

Tim Duncan didn't make the All-Star team for the first time in his career last season and he wasn't too disappointed either. Instead of being disappointed at the fans and coaches not having him on the West roster, he got to spend All-Star weekend with his family. Duncan told Mike Monroe from MySA.com that he: “I enjoyed it tremendously....I will not be campaigning...

Video: Mullin, Popovich poke fun of Barkely

A while back, TNT analyst Charles Barkley asked one too many questions of San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich regarding the game versus the Heat and in true Pop fashion, gave Chuck the "business." Well it seems ESPN's Chris Mullin learned from Barkley's mistake when he interviewed Pop during last night's Spurs-Jazz game. Check out the two having...

Tim Duncan slams home dunk on Nicolas Batum

To be honest, it's been awhile since we've posted a Tim Duncan dunk on this fair website but you need to check out this dunk he had during Thursday night's game against the Portland Trail Blazers. Watch as the big fundamental throws it down on Trail Blazer forward Nicolas Batum:

Matchup of the Game: Spurs vs. Jazz

The matchup of the game between the San Antonio Spurs and Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City will be between forward Tim Duncan and center Al Jefferson. These two players play different positions but, as Spurs fans know, Duncan plays both big man roles depending on who is on the floor with him and opposing teams usually mix and match their big men against him. This matchup is going...

Tim Duncan Dunks on Nicolas Batum (Video)

Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard went hard last night and dropped 29 points in their 98-90 victory over the Spurs.  Old man Tim Duncan had the highlight of the night though.  Early in the game Tony Parker found Duncan on a classic pick and roll and Duncan finished with a huge dunk over Nicolas Batum.   Check out the jam below. Spurs To Increase Usage Of Duncan-Splitter Combo

The Spurs are beginning to give Tim Duncan and Tiago Splitter extended minutes together.

Video: Duncan posterizes Batum

The San Antonio Spurs may have lost last night to the Blazers but Tim Duncan sure left an impression on Nicolas Batum. During the first quarter of last night's game, Tony Parker found Duncan off a pick-and-roll and Batum was just at the wrong place, at the wrong time. Check out TD putting Batum on a poster. Hopefully Batum learned a valuable lesson... never get in TD...

Spurs claim to be NBA's bad boys, recent actions agree

The San Antonio Spurs have always been thought of as that grind-it-out team. That team that methodically breaks down defenses with its passing and low post play. Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili have long been able to slither their way through defenses and Duncan was just a point guard in a post's body with the way he could break down defenses with his post moves and the pass. ...

Pop on Williams' Buzzer-Beater: 'huge defensive mistake'

San Antonio Spurs fans weren't happy with how the game ended against the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night and neither was the coach apparently. Gregg Popovich is usually a guy who'll give props to the opposing player for making a game winning shot or buzzer beater, but this time it was different. Pop was disappointed in his shooting guard Danny Green for not sticking to the...
