Tweet The Phoenix Suns should be ashamed of their defensive effort that let Portland Trail Blazers second-year PG Damian Lillard have one of the easiest game-winning shots Wednesday night that you’ll ever see. Lillard starts at the top of the key, then attacks the basket after a on-ball screen from LaMarcus Aldridge. From there, the Suns allowed Lillard a clear path to the basket without any resistance. Watch: Lillard is pretty good, but the Suns porous defense on this last-minute play would have given just about anyone the opportunity to convert the layup. Effort like this is what separates the good teams from bad ones. H/T to ProBasketballTalk for the video -ALR

A Brief Look At The 2013-14 Portland Trail Blazers So Far

It's no secret in Rip City that LaMarcus Aldridge wants to win, and he wants to win now. After a brief back and forth with Neil Olshey this past summer (although he may refuse to admit it), Aldridge has seemingly become comfortable sporting the black and red for another year. By way of some notable free agent acquisitions (Mo Williams, Dorrel Wright) and two trades that netted...

ICYMI Phoenix vs. Portland: We’re goin streakin!!!

Unbelievable Finish If you had put money on the Portland Trail Blazers holding the Phoenix Suns to under 90 points last night while also predicting a win by the home team, you likely earned quite a good sum of cash last night, as the Blazers did just that. Taking on the team that handed Portland their opening night loss (being only one of two teams to defeat them in 2013), the Blazers...

Robinson gives sagging Blazers the jolt they need in 90-89 win over Suns

Their game was ragged, their shooting frigid and their hold on the ball slippery. Just when the Trail Blazers seem headed for a disappointing loss to the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday, they got a big lift from an unexpected source: Thomas Robinson. The second-year forward gave the Blazers a huge jolt of energy in the fourth quarter, when he scored nine crucial points, to help Portland...

This Day In NBA History – 4-Overtime Battle in Portland (November 14)

Just four days ago, I posted another Phoenix Suns-related article in this category - the article about their record-setting 173 points without a single overtime. This time, the things are much different. 16 years ago, on November 14, Portland Trail Blazers hosted the Phoenix Suns for what was supposed to be a great game between the ...The post This Day In NBA History – 4-Overtime...

Live Game Updates - Trail Blazers 11/15

End first: After one quarter in Boston, the score is tied at 23. So far, I must say the Celtics have been pretty good. They're making their shots, they're rebounding, and most importantly, they're hustling. The lost to the Bobcats because of a lack of effort. But tonight, they seem to have a fixed that problem.  [Discuss on CG Forums!]

ICYMI Detroit vs. Portland: Streak to three

Can’t Stop Them It may not have been the easiest win of the year but the Portland Trail Blazers managed to hold back the Detroit Pistons just enough to secure their third straight victory and to improve to 5-2 on the year. Returning home after a brief trip to Sacramento that saw them easily handle the putrid Kings, the Blazers put up points in bundles during the first quarter before...
