It has become a mini drama each game -- waiting to see if Al Harrington will make his Magic debut. When Orlando acquired Harrington in the Dwight Howard deal, it was expected he would provide some veteran leadership and a stretch-4 that would enable the Magic to go small occassionally. Yes, the Magic knew they would have to wait after an infection following surgery prevented him from taking to the floor. It has been a long time though. He has told Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel on one occassion that he can see "light at the end of the tunnel." Robbins has aptly described Harrington as the new toy in the box that the Magic have not been able to play with quite yet. Yet, we are still waiting. Harrington has been working hard behind the scenes to be ready to play. His jumper looks as smooth as ever and surely his conditioning is getting to a level where he can play. {youtube}p6jp8pJc0F8{/youtube} For the first time on Friday, he was in uniform. O...

Beno Udrih and Tobias Harris make strong debuts for woeful Orlando Magic

Beno Udrih and Tobias Harris both showed deep-league appeal in their Orlando Magic debuts. Jameer Nelson sat out a second straight game with a left patella contusion. That opened up minutes for Udrih immediately. The ex-Bucks point guard played 27 minutes off the bench, scoring 10 points and dishing seven assists to go with three boards and two steals. He's a nice option...

Beno Udrih Was Happy To Be Traded From Bucks To Magic

Point guard, Beno Udrih, who was traded to the Magic Thursday, voiced his displeasure with the Bucks to the Orlando media Monday, saying he was unhappy with the lack of playing time he received there and has felt more at home in Orlando in three days than he did in Milwaukee for a year and a half. According to John Denton, NBA: “I’ve been here (in Orlando) three days and I already...

Orlando assigns Dwight's number

Dwight Howard was one of the best players in Orlando Magic history.  Not even one year after trading him to the Lakers, the Magic have already given his number away to ... Tobias Harris?

Ex-Bucks excited by opportunity in Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. Beno Udrih, Tobias Harris and Doron Lamb have gone from a team in the thick of playoff contention to one enduring some thin times. And theysay they couldnt be more thrilled. Evaluating the Magic's haul with Bucksketball

Beno Udrih, Tobias Harris and Doron Lamb have already suited up for one game in a Magic uniform and we have gotten a brief glimpse at what each can do. In Orlando's loss to Cleveland on Saturday, Udrih showed that he is an adept playmaker and passer, racking up seven assists to go with 10 points in an uneven shooting performance for him. Tobias Harris has already shown that...

Orlando Magic assign Dwight Howard’s old Number Already

Dwight Howard is the Orlando Magic’s all-time leader in a plethora of important categories. Leading the franchise in points, rebounds, blocks and minutes played, Dwight’s impact on the floor was unmatched by any other Magic player in the team’s history. A lot to take in

There were some new faces in Magic uniforms Saturday. They barely had time to learn basic plays in a walk through. Figuring out where these new pieces fit in the course of the season and on the fly -- let alone on the fourth game in five nights and a night after a seven-player performance -- is difficult in itself. Saturday was going to be a difficult game any way you cut it...

Box Score: Cavaliers 118, Magic 94

Goodness gracious, Cavs fans, this was a fun one. The good guys outscored the Magic 67-43 in the second half en route to a dominant victory Saturday night in Orlando, the team’s second largest win in the post-LeBron era (27 points vs. Bobcats on Feb. 6). The tremendous road win also represents a complete turnaround for these two teams this season — the Magic started 12-13, but...

Cavaliers deal Magic 5th straight loss

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- Kyrie Irving has proven multiple times this season that he can be an unrelenting scorer when he needs to be. Against the Magic, the Cleveland Cavaliers' young point guard showed he can also do some damage when he's creating opportunities for his teammates. Marreese Speights scored 18 points, Alonzo Gee added 17 and the Cavaliers used a big fourth quarter...

Re-energized Magic storm past Sixers

Whenever some fresh faces come into the fold of any team, it provides some type of energy. The new faces tend to freshen up the mundanity of the season. And another fresh face also provided some new energy. That new face was not involved in any trade (at least recently). It was the return -- or, better, debut -- of Al Harrington. You could see how everyone on the team wanted...
