Golden State Warriors have no love lost for owner Joe Lacob during a jersey retirement ceremony for Hall of Famer Chris Mullin. Lacob just signed off on a very silly tank of a deal which sent fan favorite Monta Ellis to the Bucks. In exchange, they received the usually injured big man, Andrew Bogut and the journeyman Stephen Jackson. We forgot to mention that Jackson was shipped off immediately to the Spurs.

  • The fans have the right to voice their opinion. Afterall they're the ones that make any sporting franchise stay afloat. The Warriors ownership did not give a long time, loyal player due respect by not giving Monta Ellis the proper notification of his trade. He had to learn it from the locker room TV.
  • Juts goes to show how knowledgeable the fan base in Oakland is. Youre talking about an owner group who came in and blatantly disrespected Chris Mullen and then showed up to try and steal a bit of his attention on HIS night! You are talking about an owner who talked about building the team the "right way" and then threw the season away [art way through it in true warrior fashion by trading the face of the franchise and most popular player along with on of your top young players you spent two years hyping as the future for two players who are hurt and wont even play this year. Sure it might have a better potential upside years from now, but in the immediate sense, this is the same warriors that fans have been tortured with for the last 20 years.
  • Rick Barry should just keep his mouth shut. If it wern't for the fans, Rick, you wouldn't have had the career you had. Pro sports is too overated. What makes and athlete more valuable that the man who picks up your trash every week, the people that do everyday jobs that really make this world go around. Athletes and actors should just keep their mouths shut!!!!!
  • Hey, "stupid is as stupid does", but the fact remains that the fan base keeps teams afloat; Why should they be happy about an ownwer that does things based on the bottom line? He obviously doesn't take in fan opinion when he makes a business decision . . . And this guy wants love from fans that are nothing more to him than fannies in the seats? Seriously?
  • So the collective voice, brain power, and resources of this stadium of fans has less power than 3 or four people on stage... do we forget that without these fans there would be no owner, no players, no crazy pay for these athletes and owners to pull these antics? This is a micro example of a macro problem just this last week in Washington they voted into law an ANTI PROTEST LAW(H.R.347)which makes it a FELONY to protest our leaders, NO More booing to the people who take away are freedoms or our players-- probably under the same guise that they are the brilliant OWNERS AND ATHLETES they must be smarter than us "dump fans" that go to the stinking stadiums that where paid for with bonds and tax dollars and pay CRAZY MONEY to EAT BAD EXPENSIVE FOOD AND STAND IN Miles of LINE and PAY CRAZY MONEY TO PARK MILES AWAY SO THAT WE can watch a game that we cant even have a voice on who we WANT TO PLAY.... HECK maybe they are smarter than us we are letting them do it? Silence is Consent---
  • "Owner" Lacob screwed up a very memorable night for Chris Mullin by showing up after the white flag movement by administration. Live on Monta, you deserved better.
  • When "FANS" support paying guys like Manning $96Million over five years when EMS personnel who save lives every day make less than $40,000 a year, then it tells me about the mentality and priorities of "fans".

  • It reminds me of when the Raiders were moving to LA. The fans protested by not coming into the stadium for the first quarter. Wow, that really made the ownership shake in their shoes.
The problem is that we are addicted to sports period. We are like the last days of Rome. Keep um entertained over here, while we rip um off over there. I'll bet you more fans know Monta's statistics than they know their councilman or woman's name or their state rep or congressman or woman. What a joke!
  • Why should we care what our congressman's name is? They don't get a damn thing done anyways. All they do is whine and bitch about each other and argue or the same things and never accomplish anything. Talk about overpaid.
  • Unfortunately, the fans have a right to act like idiots. There's a time and a place for everything. While he was presenting a player with a plaque and hanging his jersey in front of his wife and daughter is not the time or place. Some people just shouldn't be out in public. Unfortunately, a lot of them were in that arena at the wrong time.
  • The same thing happened to Bud Adams when they retired Mike Munchak of the Oilers. The dumbass owners ought to stay in the luxery box. Seems like they would know when they aren't wanted.
  • Another word for "fan" is "customer." This guy really chewed out the customers for voicing their dislike of his product? And the customers continue to pay outrageous prices - amazing.
