The Golden State Warriors hopped a flight to China on Friday to begin a week that will cover 15 times zones and more than 12,000 miles. ''A lot of coffee, caffeine and sleeping pills,'' center Andrew Bogut said. The trip, part of the NBA's Global Games, will feature two games against the Los Angeles Lakers. It's also a break from the monotony of training camp, a chance to build camaraderie and, of course, a step in promoting the league's brand. The Warriors land in Beijing on Saturday evening. After practicing Sunday, they'll visit the Great Wall and a school. There's a reception and team dinner Monday followed by the first game with the Lakers the next day. The Warriors fly to Shanghai immediately after the game. They'll meet with fans Thursday and put on a clinic. They'll play the Lakers again Friday before returning home Saturday. ''Any time you can experience that and see how someone else does things, how they live, it'...

Warriors' Andrew Bogut downplays media expectations for team

Don't get Andrew Bogut wrong he likes all the love the Warriors are getting. The media are showing unprecedented interest. Fans are hyped for another playoff run. Analysts and experts are predicting success. It all sounds good. But Bogut entering his ninth NBA season has seen too much to completely buy in. "Everyone is blowing us up" Bogut said before the team took...

NBA Rank: Klay Thompson misconception

Klay Thompson’s rank in the NBA Player Rankings was no slam dunk this year. (AP Photo/Marcio Jose Sanchez) has been running an ongoing NBA Rank article that is basically a countdown of the top 500 NBA players today. To rank the players, uses about 100 different experts who each rank every player on a 1-10 scale. They then take the average that each player...

Harrison Barnes likely to miss Warriors’ next two preseason games in China due to foot injury

Harrison Barnes started 81 games as a rookie for the Warriors last season and his explosiveness and athleticism on both ends of the floor were among the reasons the team exceeded expectations by getting to the second round of the playoffs. Health has been an ongoing concern in Golden State in recent years so with Barnes experiencing problems with his left foot so early in the exhibition...

Lee's taste of Warriors' success gives motivation

It's easy to recognize that David Lee has lowered his body-fat percentage lost 8 pounds added lean muscle and boosted the quickness and explosion of his movements this preseason. Warriors head coach Mark Jackson also sees something a little less tangible - and maybe more important - in his power forward. "There's just a look in his eyes. He really sets the tone for...

Warriors Hope To Build Camaraderie With Trip To China

The Golden State Warriors are hoping that their preseason trip to China will create positive camaraderie moving into the season. "One of the positives we can really bring out of this is to come together as a team," David Lee said. "That's as important, in my opinion, as what we do on the court in this preseason. Because we saw it last year. We made the final four...

Derrick Favors Makes Andrew Bogut Look Like A Scrub With This Block

As you can see, fourth-year Power Forward Derrick Favors is definitely ready to start at the NBA level. It’s only a preseason game, of course, so nothing in this game really matters that much. That said, the Utah Jazz defeated the Golden State Warriors 101-78 on Tuesday. Even though preseason wins are not especially predictive of the outcomes of the NBA season, it is worth noting...
