Jason Whitney Kendall Marshall made an incredible assist to teammate Jared Dudley
Phoenix Suns’ rookie point guard, Kendall Marshall is finally getting some playing time after riding the pine for most of his rookie campaign. If he continues to make incredible passes like the bounce pass he through between Omer Asik’s legs to Jared Dudley for the assist during last night’s Suns vs. Rockets game, he may be finding himself on the hardwood more often. The Suns went on to beat the playoff bound Houston Rockets 107-105 in a game where James Harden exploded for 38 points.
The Suns are high on Marshall’s passing ability and with him only being 21 years-old, he will have plenty of time to mature into a good point guard in the NBA. Here is some analysis from Arizona Sports.
The results have been a mixed bag, with Marshall showing the passing ability that had the Suns so high on him but the shooting struggles that had some draft experts questioning the selection.
“I think he’s a kid that really needs to learn how to play at this level,” Suns analyst Tim Kempton told Arizona Sports 620′s Doug and Wolf Monday. “Obviously he’s a very good open-court player.”
Kempton said Marshall is at his best when pushing the ball because he sees the floor well and is a good passer, but the NBA is more about half-court offense, which is where Marshall could use some work.
If Marshall continues to see extended minutes, it looks like we can get used to seeing more of these incredible assists!
