When Jimmy Butler was drafted by the Chicago Bulls out of Marquette, eventually the idea was that he would replace Ronnie Brewer, and have a similar role within the bench mob. Now that Brewer is gone (and with him Kyle Korver, meaning 2/3 of the Chicago Jazz or Utah Bulls are now gone) it’s ready to happen.
“I have to be able to do what he did, and he showed me a lot,” Butler said of Brewer.
“We’re still really close, off-the-court, on-the-court, that was pretty much my guy last year.”
Butler also talked about what he needs to do this season.
“I think that’s (the jumpshot) is one of the key elements in my game. To make it easier on myself and to get to the line I need to make a few jumpshots. If they have to respect the jump shot, then you can give them a ball fake and take it to the rim. You gotta knock down a few before you can take it to the cup,” Butler said.
