Los Angeles Lakers
LOS ANGELES In fact, theres no conclusive evidence that the world ends in the spring of 2014, or even that the National Basketball Association will be disbanded and forgotten on or around that date.
None at all.
And yet somehow, the Lakers seem to have built their roster believing that to be true or perhaps believing that there would never be a punitive new CBA, and once said CBA was put in place that it was simply a joke that would disappear in a puff of smoke. (All false.) Now, consequently and unfortunately for the memory of the late, great Jerry Buss, the Lakers are left with a roster thats either injured, unwanted, elderly or unknown, all the while cloying for Dwight Howards fleeting love.
Thats not exactly ideal for a franchise thats made its name on being a perennial contender, one thats missed the playoffs just once since 1994 and only four times since moving to Los Angeles for the 1960-61 season. Now, going into the offseason after their hard-won playoff berth lasted ...

Kobe Bryant claimed in court filings submitted Wednesday that he never gave his mother permission to sell memorabilia from his early basketball career.
Lakers forward Pau Gasol underwent a successful FAST Technique procedure on both knees, the team announced on Wednesday.
Everything has gone well! Now I'll have to rest my knees and start with the rehab. Thanks everyone for your support! twitter.compaugasolstatu Pau Gasol (@paugasol) May 9, 2013
Gasol is expected to make a full recovery and will return to basketball activities...
The Lakers announced Wednesday that Pau Gasol, who has been suffering from tendonosis in both knees, will undergo a procedure to alleviate the issue on Thursday.
The procedure, called FAST, involved debridement through the insertion a probe into both knees. The probe emits ultrasonic energy that eliminates scar tissue without damaging healthy tissue. Dr. Steven Yoon of the Kerlan...
A federal judge in California has ruled an auction house cannot sell, destroy or otherwise dispose of Kobe Bryant memorabilia offered by the NBA star's mother while courts sort out where the case should be decided.
The case revolves around a spat between Bryant and his mother and is playing out coast to coast and in more courts than a playoff series.
According to a court filing...
In response to his bloodsucking mother, Pamela, arranging to peddle $450,000 worth of memorabilia to Goldin Auctions, Los Angeles Lakers icon Kobe Bryant is in court battling to regain the hundreds of items before the June sale occurs. Selected by the Charlotte Hornets 13th overall in the 1996 NBA Draft, the bulk of mementos come from Bryant’s playing days at Lower Merion High...
Dwight Howard's most recent tweet is not exactly going to be bringing peace to the Middle East or curing cancer.
After suffering knee pain during the season, Los Angeles Lakers forward Pau Gasol has decided to undergo a procedure Thursday to get rid of all of his scar tissue buildup that he has in both of his knees. This is supposed to be a relatively simple procedure and shouldn’t set him back for the 2013/14 season.
The post Los Angeles Lakers Forward Pau Gasol To Undergo Procedure appeared...

Especially if your name is Dwight Howard.
It’s no wonder that he acts like a child on the court and in the locker room… He really is a nine foot tall child....
Our friend Stiletto Jill took this to mean that Gasol is going over to Germany to have the Kobe treatments, I said he was going to see Charles Xavier and this is why she is smarter than I am. With that being said, the German treatments seem to work for anyone not named Andrew Bynum.
Gasol was hurt a lot this year with various injuries, but will have a full offseason to recover...
We wonder why athletes abuse alcohol, self-medicate with marijuana, coke, groupies and hookers, extend/enhance their careers with PEDs, go broke shortly after they retire, and then we learn that Kobe Bryant and his mother are embroiled in a nasty lawsuit over his childhood memorabilia.
She wants an "additional" home in Nevada and a $450,000 down payment. Kobe countered...
Seems like an open and shut case to me. It is Kobe’s stuff so if he doesn’t want it to go to auction, his mom shouldn’t be allowed to do it.
The judge agrees with Bean for now.
TMZ has learned a judge issued a temporary restraining order against Goldin Auctions, prohibiting them from selling Kobe’s jerseys, championship rings, trophies, and lots of other stuff until a full...
The Celtics and Lakers are down once again. But are they out? The cities of Boston and Los Angeles are home to the two preeminent franchises in the National Basketball Association. Their names are forever linked with each other, and are forever symmetrical with professional basketball. The Celtics and Lakers. The Lakers and Celtics. However, for the first time in 20 years, both...
First time since 2007 that there isn't a Boston Celtics' or Los Angeles Lakers' team in the second round of the NBA playoffs. These two teams make up 33 NBA titles out of 67 NBA championships (almost half).
Seriously, I hate the Lakers so I am happy they aren't in it. A lot of our readers and fans out there thought the Spurs and Lakers series was going to be entertaining...

I think championship should be an expectation. Realistically we have enough talent here that there will be enough to where our goal is a championship.
