(As NBA owners work to settle the lockout, only now are the actual losses of games becoming real. To that end, we will offer a look on each scheduled game day of what would have been in play for the Miami Heat had they actually been playing.)
The schedule: The Heat were scheduled to play Sunday at 6 p.m. at AmericanAirlines Arena against the Washington Wizards.
The expected hype: The Heat hardly saw the best of 2010 No. 1 overall draft choice John Wall last season, but Wall appeared to take his game to another level with his performances in exhibitions during the offseason and lockout. That, again, would have raised the issue of the Heat’s ability to contend with quality opposing point guards. In fact, with the Heat’s Mario Chalmers and Mike Bibby free agents, it is unclear how such a matchup would have played out. Wall vs. Norris Cole might have been an option.
