They are for real, folks. This is definitely a good basketball team. Are they a great basketball team? That may be too early to decide. If you asked me before the season started, I’d have told you Indiana is still a team on the rise, but I don’t expect them to get a playoff seed higher than five or six. The reason? They only have one truly above average defender in Paul George. They’ll get their points, sure. They’ll score the ball. But when are they going to get stops? Well, fast forward to now, I was dead wrong about Indiana. This team CAN play defense. It’s how they’ve won 75% of the basketball games they’ve played heading into Monday. I hate admitting when I’m wrong about the NBA, and truthfully, it doesn’t happen a whole lot; but I’ll say this, I’m not sure about this Indy team anymore. Are they more than just a young team on the rise? Are they a real contender? It’s probably too early to tell. But we may know soon. Here is what we know now: 1. At 9-3, they are tied with Philly f
