The NBA draft is June 27 and the Thunder have the No. 12 pick. While a lot of folks are suggesting Oklahoma City use the draft to pick up a big man who can score, general manager Sam Presti has been known for a few draft-day surprises, going with guards Russell Westbrook and Reggie Jackson. Around the web, the thought is about the same. Looking at some of the mock drafts, it appears many think the Thunder will choose a center. Heres a peek at some opinions on who Oklahoma City will take and a bit about each of the players: USA Today C.J. McCollum, Lehigh, shooting guard: McCollum missed part of the season with a broken foot, but seems like a curious choice, considering the ascension of Reggie Jackson at the guard spot. Remember, Russell Westbrook should be 100 percent at the start of the season, so playing time behind him will certainly be limited. McCollum is a guy who is known for scoring. Bleacher Report Steven Adams, Pitt, C, Adams is a 7-footer who can rebound and has strong post skills. Could he come in right away and be a scorer? Possibly, but the potential to be similar to former Thunder players Cole Aldrich and Byron Mullens is there, too. Adams is a good mid-range shooter, something starting center Kendrick Perkins is not. FOXsports.com Steven Adams, Pitt, C NBAdraft.net Steven Adams, Pitt, C ESPN.com Steven Adams, Pitt, C Draftexpress.com Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Georgia, SG, At 6-foot-6, 205 pounds Caldwell-Pope is a guy who can get to the basket as well as shoot from outside. The Thunder showed during the playoffs they are in need of another person who can take the pressure off of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. They need another offensive creator. Caldwell-Pope could be that guy. He averaged 18.5 points per game as well as 7.1 rebounds per game, showing he has some interest on the defensive end of the floor. Fansided.com Steven Adams, Pitt, C SportsIllustrated.com Kelly Olynyk, Gonzaga, C, Another big guy who can score, Olynyk is a 7-footer who can play well with his back to the basket, something the Thunder lacked a season ago. He averaged 18 points per game last season at Gonzaga and is a good shooter from the field and the free throw line. Hes not fast and hes not the most physical, but if the Thunder are looking for offense from the center position, Olynyk would seem to make sense. Matt Moore, CBSsports.com C.J. McCollum, Lehigh, G Gary Parrish, CBSsports.com Gorgui Dieng, Louisville, C Of all the centers in the drat, Dieng seems to be the one who would fit the Thunder system the best. Hes 6-11, but hes aggressive defensively and can really block shots. Now, while offense is his weakness, Dieng is able to face up and hit mid-range jumpers. Hes never going to be a great scorer, but remember, coach Scott Brooks has said for a long time, they dont have to have scoring from the center spot. Follow Andrew Gilman on Twitter @andrewgilmanOK
