Found March 17, 2012 on Pacers Pulse:
Ok, so the Pacers didn't make a big move, but I really liked the one they did make. No Chris Kaman, no Jamal Crawford, no OJ Mayo -- but the Pacers still did well in poaching 6'3" guard Leandro Barbosa from the Toronto Raptors for just a second round pick.  A lot of people are indifferent about the trade, but I love it.  Allow me to explain why.First of all, the Pacers gave up virtually nothing. Yes, the next draft is supposedly deep, but the Pacers are likely to finish with around the 10th best record in the league, meaning they are essentially giving up a pick that would land somewhere in the 50s. There aren't going to be many players who can provide much of an impact, immediate or otherwise, at that spot.Secondly, with the Pacers being below the salary cap, Barbosa is not a financial burden, especially as his $7.6m contract comes off the books at the end of the season. This means at worst he is just a short-term insurance policy.Thirdly, Barbosa can still play an...

Let the Chris Kaman sweepstakes begin

So no trades for the Celtics, but there's a game changer still available. Essentially if the Heat are able to sign Chris Kaman (expected to reach a buyout with the Hornets) the Celtics are toast, but if the Celtics are able to sign Kaman, things just got a lot more interesting. Kaman is a former all-star, and as you can see from the stats below (the Hornets last 19 games) the...

Hornets GM sees possible future with Kaman

The Hornets have not discussed buying out the rest of Chris Kaman's contract and would prefer to hold on to the 7-foot center. General manager Dell Demps explored trade offers for Kaman, who is in the final year of a contract that pays about $14 million this season. However, the Hornets did not deal Kaman or any other player on Thursday before the NBA trade deadline passed....

Spurs could be among top suitors for Kaman

If the New Orleans Hornets go ahead with a buyout of Chris Kaman's contract, the San Antonio Spurs could be suitors for his services. Yahoo's Adrian Wojarowski reported via his twitter page that a source said the Spurs could one of the top suitors for Kaman's services. "Miami, Boston, San Antonio will be aggressive suitors for Chris Kaman should he inevitably...

All quiet on the Chris Kaman trade front

Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski says Chris Kaman will likely remain with the Hornets past the deadline. If Hornets ownership, i.e. the league, decides to buy him out, then the Celtics, Heat and Spurs will likely compete for his services. Greg Dickerson says "don't expect anything big in the next half hour..c's hotel pretty quiet."

Crawford Hopes For Trade To Magic

Jamal Crawford's preference ahead of the deadline is a trade to the Magic.

Hornets 102, Nets 94

Chris Kaman scored 20 points, including a key 23-foot jumper with a second left on the shot clock and 45 seconds left in the game, giving the New Orleans Hornets a 102-94 win over the New Jersey Nets on Saturday night. With the Hornets leading 95-94, Kaman made his jumper and then Marco Belinelli sealed the win with a fall-away 3-pointer with 16.8 seconds left, also with the shot...

Report: Kaman staying in New Orleans, won't be bought out

With the NBA trade deadline over, the San Antonio Spurs made a huge splash by acquiring former Spur Stephen Jackson from the Golden State Warriors for Richard Jefferson, T.J. Ford and a first round draft pick in the 2012 NBA Draft. Many Spurs fans were ecstatic but the move still didn't address the Spurs' need for size. Earlier today, a report came out that New Orleans...

Hornets GM Dell Demps intends to keep Chris Kaman

"I really look like a caveman" From's Jimmy Smith's Twitter: #Hornets GM Dell Demps on possible @ChrisKaman buyout: "Our intention is to keep Chris." Kaman buyout isn't looking good, but let's hope he is wrong.

Exclusive: Mavs Narrow Search To 2 Buyout C's

Sources tell that the Mavs are preparing to go shopping for a big man, and that the decision is coming down to two players ... and to five games. Yes, Chris Kaman can be labeled a 'possibility.' But there's another 'name' veteran who could be termed closer to a 'probability' if the chips fall right. We name names as part of our Premium Mavs Coverage:

Warriors Could Have Dealt Rush, Kwame For Kaman

The Warriors could have traded Brandon Rush, Kwame Brown and a second round pick to the Hornets for Chris Kaman.

Blazers Expected To Keep Felton, Crawford

While the Blazers were very active at the deadline in unloading Gerald Wallace and Marcus Camby, it appears as though the team will not trade Raymond Felton and Jamal Crawford.

Trade Analysis: Trailblazers & Nets swap bodies on deadline day

Deadline Blows UP The Blazers Roster “Crash” Landing After weeks of speculation that Ray Felton and/or Jamal Crawford would be the first two names you would see on the Thursday morning ticker on their way out of Rip City, it surprised me to see that the two names being shipped out of town are Gerald Wallace and Marcus Camby. The Portland Trail Blazers are in full rebuild mode...
