I love the Warriors. I have for pretty much all of my three-plus decades on this earth. When I was in the fifth grade, I did a photo essay on “A Night Out at the Oakland Arena.” When I was in high school, I covered my walls with posters of Chris Mullin, Tim Hardaway and Chris Webber. When I left the Bay Area for college and law school, I braved visiting arenas to witness the Warriors’ likely losses in person — screaming for them until my voice would fail me. When I lived in England for a year, I’d stay up until dawn hitting refresh on early internet box scores to see if the Warriors could pull off a rare win. When I finally moved back to the Bay Area, getting season tickets to the Warriors was one of the first things I did. I’m giving up those tickets next year — because the thought of missing Warriors basketball in person pains me less than the thought of giving Chris Cohan my money.
