Could Dorell's name be on one of these?
Even though it has been another long and hard to watch season let’s try to find that silver lining. A possible award winner for the Warriors this season could be Dorell Wright. He is a strong candidate for most improved player. It may not be as prestigious as MVP or even rookie of the year but it does mean the Warriors made a great move by signing him. Wright has been a much improved player this season for sure but will he win the award?I am going to say no he will not. But this is still a sliver lining post. The guy has improved and the Warriors have improved because of him. That is a win for us as fans. But to be honest it is going to be hard to beat out Kevin Love, Tyson Chandler or Jrue Holiday for most improved. Derek Rose could easily be placed on this list as well but since he will most likely win MVP there will be no need for most improved. Tyson Chandler and Jrue Holiday will probably get it over Wright due to them helping their team win games. Yes, Wright has helped the Warriors win but look at their record. They are not winning enough. Love is in there not because the Wolves are winners but because he spent such a long period of time in the public eye, with his dominating double double streak. Either way I think those are the three choices just ahead of Wright. Love would probably get my vote right now.
Again, let me just say this is still a win for everyone. It would be nice to see the Warriors get a little press for Wright winning an award but I will be happy to just know the Warriors picked up a nice piece of the puzzle.
