TEAMS: Boston Celtics, Miami Heat
Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski wrote a spectacular column on Rajon Rondo and the threat he poses to the Miami Heat:
Rondo’s rising again, on a tear for months, and he’s still the biggest potential barrier between Miami and a return to the NBA Finals. He was his genius passing and playmaking self – 16 assists, one turnover – in the Celtics' 101-79 victory over Atlanta at the Garden. So many of his 20 points came on jump shots, on the kind of sweet, fluid stroke that’s seldom functioned for him. Boston goes back to Atlanta with a 3-1 series lead for Game 5 Tuesday, goes back with a chance to advance closer to a conference final with the Heat.
Boston’s still the looming issue for Miami because Rondo and Paul Pierce, Garnett and Ray Allen have a run left with them. Boston’s still looming because that failed, final sequence in the Heat’s Game 4 loss to the Knicks on Sunday is a reminder of how efficiently this Celtics coach and these Celtics stars run plays in the tellt...

Rajon Rondo Confronts Cameraman While Sporting Awesome Zebra Print Jacket After Celtics' Loss (Video)
Rajon Rondo was, as you might expect, visibly upset following the Celtics' 87-86 loss in Atlanta Tuesday night. His emotion got the best of him after the game, though, as he did his best Randy Johnson/Kenny Rogers impersonation. Rondo was getting ready for his postgame news conference when he noticed out of the corner of his eye that he was being recorded. The Celtics point guard...

Rondo goes after cameraman after game
Loved the comment by Barkley on Rondo being angry about his jacket choice. Expect Rondo let out his anger on the Hawks in Game 6. I mentioned before the series started that Al Horford was a key. With him back of course the Hawks are a different team. Rusty or not adding an all-star talent back to a team is a huge boost. With that said, I think that the Garden crowd and an angry...
A critic comes to accept Rajon Rondo
The following is a piece by Henry Schwann
The Celtics weren’t the only ones who were exhausted after Friday night’s overtime win over the Hawks. I was totally zapped of all energy after watching Rajon Rondo’s brilliant yet frustrating triple-double. Just like the Celtics, I took Saturday off. I needed to clear my head because watching Rondo gets me so high one minute and...
Rajon Rondo Rocks Celtics Past Hawks With a Triple Double
Rajon Rondo helped the Boston Celtics get past the Atlanta Hawks with a triple double. The Boston Celtics are playing some darn good basketball these days, there is something about the play-off that gives this older Celtics team a second wind. Rajon Rondo scored 17 points with 14 rebounds and had 12 assists as the Celtics downed the Hawks 90-84 to take a 2-1 lead in the series. Paul...
Three Hawks players get Rondo'd
Let's examine the Hawks who are burned by Rajon Rondo on this play.
Jeff Teague - Forced to respect Rajon's hot jump shooting, Teague races out to the perimeter. Rondo promptly blows past him.
Jason Collins - Frozen by the behind-the-back ball fake. He's in a tough spot. If he challenges, Rondo dishes to KG for an open 17 footer. Likelihood of KG making that...
Rajon Rondo's Final Play Overshadows Another Gutsy Performance by Celtics Point Guard
Rajon Rondo dribbled frantically, unable to find an opening against Al Horford's hounding defense. He stutter-stepped, crossed over, tried an in-and-out dribble and then crossed over again, losing the ball as he transferred the ball from his left hand to his right. The clock expired with the Celtics failing to get off a shot and missing an opportunity to close out their first...
Rajon Rondo rocks Vinnie Styles in post game press conference following game 5 loss to Hawks
The Boston Celtics weren’t able to close out the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night to move on to the second round of the playoffs. Al Horford in only his second game back from injury since January was amazing for the Hawks with a double-double, scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds plus making several key plays. [...]
An odd Game 3 included Rajon Rondo’s strange triple-double
Jason Collins made an instant offensive impact, Erick Dampier and Tracy McGrady played key roles, Rajon Rondo slipped and fell on a fast break with nobody in his path, Willie Green took Atlanta’s most critical shot, and I sat there watching everything unfold, wary of Boston’s raggedy play yet reveling in the oddities of it all.If Penny Hardaway had grabbed a knee brace, checked...
Pierce, Rondo Pick Apart Hawks in Game 4
The Celtics started the second half yesterday with a 16-2 run to build an 80-43 lead, and with 8 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter the game was over. Seconds earlier Paul Pierce had thrown the Boston crowd into a frenzy when he ran into the stands after a foul, then high-fived fans on his way back to the court.
Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Rajon Rondo shot a combined 24-32 from the...
Hawks 87, Celtics 86: Atlanta extends the series to Game 6
Three different times during tonight’s Game 4, I exhibited the Boston Celtics’ lifeless bodies and properly identified them as deceased. Three different times they jumped straight out of the coffin doing the Bernie and making quick comebacks. But the Celtics could not get a shot off on the final possession after Rajon Rondo improbably stole an inbounds pass to give them a last...
Your Morning Dump... The minutes are already piling up
Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.
Rivers is most concerned with the minutes of the Big Four - Rajon Rondo, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen (ankle) who returned to the lineup after nearly a month off.Rondo (45.6), Pierce (44.2)...
The Boston Celtics Blast Past Hawks 101-79
The Boston Celtics took advantage of the Atlanta Hawks beating them and making the Hawks look like they don’t even belong in the NBA play-offs. In a game when the Celtics could put themselves within one game of advancing into the nest round of the NBA pay-offs the Boston Celtics took full advantage of a Hawks team who clearly were out-played by a experienced Boston Celtics team...
Atlanta survives wild fourth to stay alive: ATL: 87 BOS: 86
Both teams traded double digit leads in this game. The Boston Celtics in the second quarter and the Atlanta Hawks in the third. Neither team enjoyed such a lead in the fourth as the teams traded punches and the game was never far from a one or two possession game for very long.
Both Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett scored 16 points for Boston but Al Horford, playing for the second...
