MINNEAPOLIS -- Timberwolves forward Dante Cunningham was arrested on probable cause for domestic assault early Thursday morning and is being held in Hennepin County Jail without bail.
Medina police arrested Cunningham, and he was received into the Hennepin facility at 6:14 a.m. He has not been charged but won't make the team's trip to Miami.
The Timberwolves, who play the Heat on Friday and the Magic on Saturday, released a statement regarding the alleged incident.
"We are aware of the matter involving Dante Cunningham and are in the process of gathering more information," the statement read. "The Minnesota Timberwolves organization takes the matter very seriously and does not condone the type of behavior that is associated with this situation. However, we need to let the legal process run its course, and will have further comment at the appropriate time."
