Fox Sports North:
MINNEAPOLIS Alexey Shved and Nikola Pekovic will both be out for Wednesday's game against Brooklyn at the Target Center. Both were injured in the second half of last Thursday's game against the Clippers, Shved with a sprained left ankle and Pekovic with a right quad contusion. That gives the Timberwolves 10 healthy players against the Nets.
The day after Pekovic's injury, the team announced that he'd miss 7-10 days, and if that still holds, that would place his return as early as Friday in Washington or Saturday in Charlotte. Shved's status has been day-to-day since the ankle injury, and he did a light workout Tuesday.
Forbes NBA team valuations: A story on Forbes.composted Thursday revealed that owners have seen massive gains since 2011's NBA lockout. The average NBA team in 2013 is valued at 509 million, a 30 percent increase over last season.

MINNEAPOLIS Alexey Shved, who's been out since he sprained his ankle Thursday night against the Clippers, went through practice on Tuesday, but he's still listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against Brooklyn.
"Alexey did do some stuff on the court to try to see how he feels," coach Terry Porter said of the rookie guard. "I don't think he'...
MINNEAPOLIS You don't notice Luke Ridnour. He doesn't want you to, for one thing, and it works. It works because he blends in. It works because there's Ricky Rubio to distract you, his injury early this season and his mere existence now that he's back.
It works because Ridnour doesn't care who pays attention to him or writes about him or sings his praises. He...
The Minnesota Timberwolves (17-22) have not played all that well this season. You could make the argument that they have been even worse when Ricky Rubio is on the floor. The second-year point guard has battled injuries that have limited him to just 14 appearances this season. Of those 14 games, the Timberwolves have won just four.
Minnesota picked up its seventh loss in its past...
Ricky Rubio's left knee has been slow to come around this season. So have the crunch-time minutes and the victories for his Minnesota Timberwolves.
That all adds up to one frustrated point guard.
Rubio didn't hide his disappointment with sitting the entire fourth quarter in a loss to the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday night. He wants to be out there and helping his injury-plagued...
Timberwolves guard Ricky Rubio is a magician with the basketball. Wednesday night, he through a nifty bounce pass through the legs of Nets guard Deron Williams before Williams realized it left Rubio’s hand. Derrick Williams flushed it. But pretty passes only add up to so much. Brooklyn beat Minnesota 91-83. Rubio finished with six assists and a subpar -8 point differential.
MINNEAPOLIS Four inches and 82 pounds. That's a fair amount of height and a hearty dose of heft, and it's what the Timberwolves' starting backcourt was trying to make up for against Brooklyn Wednesday.
There's no way around it: Luke Ridnour and Ricky Rubio are small. They're slight. Putting in J.J. Barea doesn't help, either, except to lower the center of...
Adding to another loss by the Timberwolves — their seventh in the past eight games — was Ricky Rubio’s candid disappointment over not playing in the fourth quarter of a 91-83 loss to the Brooklyn Nets at Target Center on Wednesday night, Jan. 23.
It was the first time this season Rubio has not made an appearance in the fourth quarter, prompting Rubio to seek an explanation...
One thing that many basketball players try to master is the art of making between-the-legs passes and probably the best professional player that does it is Minnesota Timberwolves guard Ricky Rubio.
During last night's game against the Brooklyn Nets, Ricky found teammate Derrick Williams for the easy lay-up while bouncing the ball between-the-legs of Deron Williams:
Alexey Shved came out of Monday's re-evaluation confident that he'll return to the Minnesota Timberwolves sometime this week.
