Los Angeles Lakers forward Xavier Henry posterized New Orleans Pelicans center Jeff Withey with a monster one-handed slam dunk during the third quarter of Tuesday night's game at the Staples Center.
Henry drove straight down the lane and dunked right over Withey, knocking him to the ground. Withey was too far under the basket, so the officials let the play go without calling a charge on Henry.
Henry scored 15 points off the bench in the 116-95 Lakers victory.

Xavier Henry did his old Kansas teammate dirty.
Henry, the Lakers' newest high-flying sensation, had the dunk of the night Tuesday against New Orleans, at the expense of rookie 7-footer Jeff Withey, his former teammate at Kansas -- complete with a dismissive hand to the face.
''That's my guy, but he shouldn't have been under there,'' Henry said with...
The Los Angeles Lakers are off to another slow start this season, but there is one thing that they can be proud of. Young Xavier Henry easily has the dunk of the season to date with the posterizing slam that he put down on Pelicans center Jeff Withey last night.
I dare anyone to watch that and not say 'daaaaaamn!'
What makes it even sweeter is...
Xavier Henry with the dunk of the night and definitely now a candidate for dunk of the year with a complete posterization of Pelicans’ Jeff Withey Tuesday night: The post Xavier Henry Completely Posterizes Jeff Jeff Withey (Video) appeared first on Beyond The Buzzer.
RIP, Jeff Withey. Xavier Henry showed no mercy on the fellow ex-Jayhawk when he threw down an early nominee for dunk of the year on Tuesday night. Check out the video after the jump:
Withey was one of the best shot blockers in the country last year at Kansas. I’m pretty sure Henry and his careers overlapped at some point in college. The big man should have known...
Los Angeles Lakers small forward Xavier Henry threw down a posterizing dunk on New Orleans rookie center Jeff Withey.
Xavier Henry of the Lakers was a very bad man on Tuesday night. Case in point was his poster dunk of New Orleans Pelicans center Jeff Withey. Did we forget to mention that the two were teammates at the University of Kansas?
Xavier Henry on The Dunk: "I knew it was Jeff (Withey) … He decided to take a charge and that wasn't the right thing for him"
— Dave McMenamin...
The Lakers’ Xavier Henry and the Pelicans’ Jeff Withey were teammates on Kansas during the 2009-10 season. All it took was a pump-fake with the Lakers up 82-60 in the third quarter for Henry to meet his former Jayhawk teammate face-to-face.
Withey hardly challenged Henry on the dunk, cementing his feet in an attempt to draw a charge, which, of course, is the opposite of what...
If you happen to be looking for the dunk of the night of Tuesday’s NBA action, you need to look no further than this epic dunk turned in by Los Angeles Lakers reserve Xavier Henry.
It happened in the third quarter of tonight’s Lakers/Pelicans affair and watch as the ball ends up in Xavier’s hands at the top of the key.
Then, Xavier launches himself for absolutely nasty poster...
New Orleans Pelicans rookie Jeff Withey was probably hoping for a cordial hello from his old college teammate Xavier Henry Tuesday night. The only problem was the Los Angeles Lakers wing had a different type of greeting in mind.
As the seven-foot Withey stood his ground in the paint, Henry posterized his old Kansas teammate with this massive tomahawk slam and Dunk of the...
Taking a charge in the NBA is risky business, as New Orleans Pelicans rookie center Jeff Withey learned Tuesday night when he attempted to step under Los Angeles Lakers forward Xavier Henry:
Brave move by Withey, just too bad it failed horrible. Now he’s on the wrong end of a highlight that will be replayed for the entire season. This was a...
So much for taking it easy on your old teammate.
Pelicans rookie Jeff Withey took the floor against fellow former Kansas Jayhawk Xavier Henry on Tuesday, and the Henry treated the youngster like a freshman.
With Henry’s Lakers leading by 12 late in the third quarter, the fourth-year pro found himself with the ball near the top of the key, with only Withey standing in his path to...
