Al Jefferson hasn't been in the playoffs since his rookie season with Boston in 2005. For Devin Harris, it has been since 2007.

Seven Utah Jazz players have never even experienced an NBA playoff game.

Thanks to the Jazz's strong showing in Tuesday night's 100-88 victory over Phoenix, that will change this weekend.

Utah, which didn't make the playoffs last season, earned itself a spot in the postseason yet again after eliminating the Suns and proving critics wrong.

It wasn't an easy journey for the Jazz, who have four key players between the ages of 19 and 22 and suffered late-season injuries to four contributors, among other challenges.

But that degree of difficulty -- and getting back so quickly after Hall of Fame coach Jerry Sloan and Deron Williams exited the scene -- makes it all the sweeter for Tyrone Corbin and crew.

"It's a tremendous achievement for a group of guys that laid it out there every night," Corbin said. "Whatever happened, good or bad, they stayed together. That's the most rewarding thing: to see them be rewarded for all the hard work they put in."

Jefferson said the playoff push showed how much the team had grown over the course of the lockout-shortened season.

"It was a long road. We started with a short training camp, with a young team," Jefferson said. "We just stayed with it. Coach believed in us. We believed in ourselves. We got confidence and everybody just stepped up."

Utah will be a No. 8 seed and face No. 1 San Antonio unless Denver loses its last two games and the Jazz beat Portland on Thursday night in the season finale. That would pit the Jazz against Oklahoma City.

Quite frankly, the Jazz don't care who they play.

"It's just a wonderful feeling. We worked real hard to get here," Jefferson said. "I'm just proud of all the guys and everybody who just stayed with it."
